The town itself is in the 'geographic centre' of Great Britain and has a quirky mix of shops and restaurants, as well as an open air swimming pool. Hadrian's Wall is just 2 miles north or the village and has a large in tact part of the wall to explore, many visitors to the town are those walking Hadrian's Wall.
