Description
Spectacular lake view and access. Large recreational lawn space with mature shade trees. 150 linear feet of lake front access. Several boats and a large fire pit are available. Peaceful neighborhood close to MSU (15 min) and Capital (20 min) This cottage was build in 1900 and has been in our family for 4 generations. Nature oriented decor is relaxing and rejuvenating. Lush gardens (both ornamental and edible) create an experience. Excellent space for a solo or family retreat. The space Nature lovers, outdoorsmen, writers, and/or spiritually inclined paradise. Attached deck is peaceful and restorative to lounge by while watching spectacular sunsets. Build confidence under the mature oaks trees, release baggage and surrender to the flow with weeping willows and waterfront access (excellent meditation location.) Large fire pit right on the lake. This double lot IS the largest lot on the Lake. Quaint old cottage with few modern renovations. We have 5 mature oak trees, 6 cottonwoods, 5 willows, and assortment of ornamental plants. Oak trees support more species in North America than any other tree species. The cottage is best suited for those who enjoy the natural setting and simple life. Anyone with expectations of a sterile, modern, and commercial experience will surely be let down. This property is now under outdoor video surveillance. However for guest privacy, guests can turn off cameras (w a light switch) when they are present on site. We ask that when guests are not present at the lake-house, security cameras be turned on to maintain security. Thank you for your colaboration! Guest access Kitchen ( including cooking essentials,) living room, washer/dryer, back yard, lake and canoe/kayak access. We also have two John boats. I have two cots available if needed. Please inquire so I can set them out for you if desired. Other things to note While several of our guests with toddlers have well enjoyed the space, it is not designed with children in mind. All bedrooms are on the second floor. Water is from a ground well. We have fire stick, Disney plus, and Hulu but no cable tv. No automatic dish washer. No central air. We have portable A/C units on each floor. Because this is an old lake-house with a large tree canopy, dust collects with every gust of wind and spiders build webs overnight. (ie anyone with aversion to dust or insects is not well suited for a lake-house.) I also don't have the heart to destroy spider habitat so it can be too much for those who don't like spiders or insects. Please note this is not akin to a hotel experience. We do not use harsh chemicals or insecticides. Life on the lake is spectacular however there is always chance of exposure to less endearing aspects of nature (bugs, dust, leaves)
