A perfect place to get off the beaten path, this country apartment is in a lovely Indigenous village 20 minutes outside of Antigua. Beautiful views of the countryside and volcanos, the area is safe and peaceful to explore. Secure parking inside the property with your own private entrance and cozy, comfortable apartment. Ten minutes from Cervecería Catorce or Tribu, and 20 minutes from Finca San Cayetano. The space You have your own private entrance, parking, and apartment with beautiful views of Volcán Agua and the local area. Private rooftop terrace with artificial grass and beautiful views (you can see Volcán Fuego and enjoy the eruptions when it's active). The apartment is cozy, great kitchen for cooking (or plenty of local delivery options), WIFI is fine but not high-speed for working or streaming movies, and no television. Comfortable king-size bed. Also on the property is the main house next door, a small community project on the first floor of the main house, and our small animal sanctuary out back. There is a small duck pond on your side of the property but no other animals have access, however we are happy to introduce you to our friendly one-eyed horse and 2 mini-donkeys, a variety of chickens, two mini-pigs and seven dogs upon request. Our property is generally quiet but this is still Guatemala, and you may hear in the distance roosters, churches, fireworks, dogs. Guest access You have your own private car park, entrance, and roof terrace (still in progress but usable). No one else goes into your area and no animals besides the ducks in the small pond. We are happy to show you the community project downstairs and a group of seven local indigenous women have formed a small cooperative and sell artisan products in a shop they've set up. They can also do a culture class if you are interested for Q100/person. We are happy to introduce you to the animals out back but we must show you how to make sure all the animals stay safe by keeping doors/gates closed.
