Historic Farmhouse
Description
Bird watchers delight! You will find this rural farm experience true to the word "rustic". Bell's House, built before 1840, is rich with history. Tastefully appointed with artwork, some of which is older than the structure itself. Rows of books line the walls, begging to be enjoyed. Bowed hardwood floors, short door frames, and water supplied from the well, are some of the quirky delights that await you. Spring has sprung. This is the best time of year! The space Nestled on 90 acres of green pasture and rolling woodlands, this home was built before 1840. This history is reflected in the character of the structure with it's low doorways and uneven floors. This house is old with many antique pieces of furniture and hundreds of old books. It even smells like a library. If you or anyone in your party are sensitive to these factors, please consider booking elsewhere. The vast and peaceful outdoor spaces offer a sense of solitude unlikely to be found anywhere so centrally located. Only 15 minutes from many destinations of interest including Green Hills, Brentwood, Cool springs, and downtown Franklin, and only 25 minutes from Nashville, with their countless shops, restaurants, and historic sites, this property provides easy access for those wanting to explore all that middle Tennessee has to offer. For those that are looking to escape the bustle of the modern world and discover nature with country charm, we offer that "middle of nowhere" vibe without the drive. White tail deer and wild turkey parading across the fields are common sites. While not available for riding, there are also several horses that may come to say hello. The pool is open year round, however it is not heated and is most enjoyable between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the fall, the leaves fall faster than we can pick them up, and the pool may not be 100% swept at all times. Please note that there is no fence between the house and the pool, but there is a pool alarm available and the depth around the entire perimeter is 30". Guest access Our guests enjoy full access to the entire house, with exception to the locked areas. The other buildings on the property are private, and we ask that guests do not enter them. The pool is a shared space but can be requested to be private by our guests. Please note that bedroom 1 is only accessible through bedroom 3, and the bathroom for bedroom 3 is only accessible through bedroom 1. For this reason these two bedrooms are listed as semi-private. Also the upstairs bathroom is shared by the 3 bedrooms. Other things to note This property is always a work in progress, and we welcome all suggestions and ideas you may have for making improvements. Currently we are working on improving outdoor lighting, as well as getting the spa tub back on line. It has been observed that the 100 year old English boxwoods (bushes) surrounding the house and property have an unpleasant smell when in bloom. This is completely natural, and beyond our control. Also note: do not eat the daisies or stare directly into the sun.
