We welcome you to explore an authentic traditional Dominican ranch, originally built around 1950 and carefully remodeled in 2022. This home offers a rare glimpse into how families lived in the countryside decades ago. The ranch once belonged to a large local family of 14 siblings, whose roots in this land span six generations. Their way of life was closely connected to nature and self-sufficiency. The property is surrounded by tropical fruit trees and plants, including cacao, coffee, banana, mango, avocado, as well as herbs and vegetables. These trees, along with a vegetable garden and farm animals, were essential for the family’s survival. Located in the mountain center of the Samaná Peninsula, this area is historically significant, one of the first regions settled by the French in the 1600s. The ranch has been restored to reflect its original 1950s character, preserving its soul and authenticity. Guest access Guests have full access to the communal kitchen, allowing you to experience rural life as it once was, waking up to morning light, collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. It’s a truly magical experience. You’re welcome to bring and store your own food or pick up supplies in El Limón town, just 10 minutes away by car. A local restaurant, Rancho Manzana, is located within a short walking distance. The ranch sits inside a protected nature park, just steps from a hiking and horse trail leading to the famous El Limón Waterfalls (15–40 minutes on foot, depending on pace). Horses or mules can be arranged nearby, and there are many other areas of the park to explore.
