Photos were taken in midsummer | WELCOME TO THE FJORD! our 54 sqm, cozy and newly renovated apartment in Flensburg is not only ideally suited for cyclists and hikers, it also invites you to linger, laze and relax. A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, incl. Dishwasher, oven, 4 ceramic hobs, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils from Rösle, salad bowl, toaster, Senseo coffee machine , kettle, etc. (coffee pods and tea are there :-) ) The comfortable king-size box spring bed (180×200 cm) offers the highest sleeping comfort - just as it should be on vacation:) A parking space right at the castle courtyard will make you comfortable as possible. The comfortable sofa bed in the living room offers space to relax and unwind. On the smart TV you have cable TV and the opportunity to log in to Netflix. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. The bathroom is modernly equipped, has a big shower, washbasin, hair dryer and window. The dining room has cozy velvet chairs and overlooks the beautiful courtyard of the castle courtyard. We have furnished the 54 sqm apartment for us as a favorite place. It only takes one step into the apartment, which makes it suitable for seniors! Only organic construction materials were used for the core renovation. We lovingly sanded and repainted the old doors from 1909. However, the keys are missing and they sometimes close hard. We find this authentic and do not bother with it. The apartment is based on a color concept, which immediately triggers relaxation and peace. We found the furniture and lights in Copenhagen and the hygge feeling also radiates the apartment. There are loving details in every room. Guest access You enter the inner courtyard through one of the two castle gates. Our apartment is located in No. 3. With the key from the key box, you enter through the main entrance. Your vacation apartment is on the right side of the ground floor. Feel free to use the bicycle cellar for your bikes. The front door key fits all areas of the castle courtyard residents. Other things to note The Burghof then and now: The complex with a strong castle character and influences from the Art Nouveau period was built in 1909/1910 and has two gates through which you can enter the inner part: the north gate from Toosbüystraße 11 and the south gate from Marienstraße 22. The Burghof itself is located in the middle of Flensburg's old town. From there, you are only a few minutes' walk from the pedestrian zone "Große Straße" and the harbor. The architect and urban planning inspector Paul Ziegler designed the Burghof as a solution concept for a building gap that was difficult to build on. The Burghof itself consists of seven apartment buildings, whose facades are made of red bricks and represent a courtyard due to their special arrangement, as was also common in some castles of the Middle Ages. In the Burghof itself, you can experience the authentic and unique flair up close. So it is hardly surprising that nowadays most city tours also lead through the Burghof! Experience Flensburg's history up close In 2010, the 100th anniversary of the Burghof was celebrated. In addition to other interesting places in the vicinity of the Burghof, such as the "Lille Teater," you will also find the place where the tower castle probably stood in the Norderkuhgang in the Middle Ages and served as a seat for higher-ranking citizens, such as city governors. Meanwhile, the Burghof is a listed building and inspires visitors in the style of an interesting symbiosis of the Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau periods. If you want to experience the history of Flensburg up close, the Burghof is an ideal starting point: Lovers of castle-like architecture in particular will feel comfortable here. Absolutely! Look forward to seeing you!
