Unlike most vacation rentals, at Chicory Lake House, we wash/change out all duvet covers, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. We take cleaning very seriously, and we don't cut corners. Our cleaning process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depend on it. Our home is family-managed and cared for because we believe you deserve the highest level of guest experience, cleanliness, and peace of mind during your vacation. THE LIVING ROOM Relax in the remodeled, modern, open space with gorgeous lake views and a gas fireplace. Enjoy the Roku smart TV, record player, and vinyl music library. The living room is furnished with a leather sofa, two leather recliners, and two fabric chairs. THE KITCHEN The beautifully designed kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, a dishwasher, and plenty of cookware and utensils. The dining table seats six, with additional seating at the kitchen island. THE PRIMARY BEDROOM WITH ENSUITE BATH You'll love the lakeside bedroom with a queen-sized bed, Roku TV, and an ensuite bathroom. Walk directly onto the lakeside deck from your bedroom to have a glass of wine or your morning coffee. The fully remodeled ensuite bath has dual vanities and a luxurious walk-in shower with rain-head, classic, and handheld shower heads. THE LAKESIDE QUEEN BEDROOM Enjoy the second lakeside bedroom with a queen bed, room-darkening shades, a closet, and a Roku TV. THE TWIN BEDROOM The cozy, but adorable, "twin room" has two twin beds, room-darkening shades, a closet, and a Roku TV. THE HALL BATH The fully remodeled hall bathroom has a modern tub/shower combination. Full-sized laundry machines are also found in the hall bathroom. THE GAME ROOM Who needs a garage when you can have a lakeside game room? We transformed the space into a fun-filled retreat with a glass overhead door for easy access to the lake. Stream the big game, play bumper pool, shuffleboard, pop-a-shot, Pac-Man, or challenge someone to a friendly round of cards. Our lakeside game room also has toys, puzzles, and games for younger children. THE GREAT OUTDOORS Chicory Lake House is a direct lakefront property on Kangaroo Lake with private (non-shared) water access. Enjoy our provided kayaks and paddleboards, or stay dry and play a few yard games. Fish from our pier, or sun on our lakeside loungers. Spend evenings making memories around our lakeside bonfire pit. Outdoor amenities include: •Large fire pit with six Adirondack chairs and complimentary firewood (two bundles) •Lakeside Trex deck and flagstone patio •Patio dining table with 6 chairs •Kayaks (6 adult and 3 youth-sized) •Paddle boards (2 adult and 1 youth) •Gas grill with propane provided •Two lounge chairs & pads (Seasonal) •Pier - typically installed from late May through mid-October. (4-5 feet deep at the end of the pier) Jumping or diving from the pier is strictly prohibited. •Access to the outdoor shed, which contains: Life jackets (4 youth and 6 adult L/XL size), outdoor games & activities (Corn hole, Ladder golf, Football, Frisbee, 2 fishing poles w/small tackle box), and marshmallow forks. Boating: Kangaroo Lake is wonderful for paddling. While there is boating on Kangaroo Lake, hidden rock piles and ledges create challenges. There is no boat lift at Chicory Lake House, and our pier is not suitable for mooring a large boat. *Guests planning on bringing a boat must inform us at the time of booking. Jet skis are not allowed. Swimming conditions: Fishing shoreline with reeds and a rocky bottom. Water shoes are recommended. Typical of most inland Wisconsin lakes, swimmers' itch occasionally occurs but is unpredictable. Like virtually every inland lake in Wisconsin, guests may encounter Canadian Geese (and their droppings) on our lakeshore or pier. LIST OF OTHER DETAILS AND AMENITIES: •Pull-through, semi-circle driveway with room for three vehicles (no garage access for vehicles). •Central A/C and Heat •Washer and Dryer •Gas fireplace •Five Smart TVs (located in all bedrooms, the living room, and the garage rec room). A complimentary streaming app is available for live "cable" TV. Guests are also welcome to log into their personal streaming apps. •Wi-Fi, Strong enough to support Zoom meetings (due to the rural nature of Door County, WIFI and cell phone coverage and service can vary) •In each bathroom, we supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We recommend bringing shower essentials for stays longer than two nights. •No pets. •No Firearms, fireworks, smoking, tobacco, or vaping allowed on the property •Burning of candles or other open flames is prohibited The Kangaroo Lake Public Boat Launch is located 2.8 miles away along the east shore of Kangaroo Lake on 7563 S Kangaroo Lake Drive. Guest access You will have access to our entire home, yard, and the lakeside game-room portion of our detached garage. Guests also have access to our storage shed containing paddle boards, life jackets, fishing poles, yard games, and marshmallow forks. Kayaks are kept near our shoreline on a kayak rack. We provide complimentary firewood for our large lakeside firepit and propane for our Weber grill. The only locked, non-accessible areas of our property include the driveway side of our detached garage and our basement crawlspace, which contains mechanicals. There is a pull-through driveway with parking for three cars, but no garage access for vehicles. Many of the requirements in our house rules are dictated by our local village’s short-term rental ordinance and are beyond our control. Our standard check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and our standard check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Furniture and decor may differ from the photos, as we constantly strive to maintain the comfort, quality, and cleanliness of our home's furnishings. ★IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION★ Please read our entire listing, including our house rules. We kindly ask that guests requesting a booking check their Airbnb messages after submitting a request. We send a message to confirm that you do not have any questions about this process before accepting your request. We require an electronically signed renter agreement and a security deposit hold for all bookings. This helps us ensure that all guests follow our policies and respect the property, which in turn safeguards the experience and comfort of your upcoming vacation. These items are permitted by Airbnb's terms of service for software-integrated hosts when the process is disclosed in advance. That process is as follows: •After we accept your booking request, you will receive an encrypted, secure link within an Airbnb message that will take you to our point-of-contact form, security deposit hold form, and rental agreement. Our rental agreement is required by our insurance and is very standard. The terms of the agreement include our house rules, a waiver of liability and assumption of risk, occupancy limits (6), cancellation policy, and ordinance requirements for the Village of Baileys Harbor. •We also require a $300 security deposit hold for all bookings. This is processed through our management software and our secure credit card processor. This hold is scheduled to be processed two days before your arrival and will be released after your departure, assuming there are no damages to discuss. The name on the credit card used for the security deposit must match the name of the person requesting the booking. •To finalize your booking and avoid cancellation, please read and sign the agreement and schedule the security deposit hold before your free cancellation period ends.
