Description

Escape to this private guest cabin for two in the rolling hills of Esmont, just outside Charlottesville and Virginia wine country. Set on 60+ acres of peaceful farm and woods, this quiet retreat offers privacy, wildlife, and open skies. Walk over two miles of private trails (when open) and unwind by the fire pit under the stars. Perfect for a romantic getaway or Blue Ridge escape. No cleaning fees—please tidy up. Dog friendly with a $50 NON-REFUNDABLE fee; dogs must The space The cabin is a private, cozy efficiency designed for two, with a full bath and simple kitchenette for relaxed, unhurried meals. Inside, the space feels warm and tucked away — a quiet place to unwind after a day on the trails. The covered front porch is perfect for slow mornings with coffee or quiet conversation at dusk. In the evening, light your private fire pit and settle in beneath the open sky, where the only sounds are wildlife and the crackle of the fire. Guest access Guests have access to the entire guest cabin. The main house, out buildings, and hot tub are not for guest use. Trails are open between January 15th and September 1st. Other things to note We live in the main house just across the driveway. You’ll likely see us around, but your space is your space. Winter in rural Virginia can be… adventurous. Between November and March, snow and ice are always possible. This is not convertible Ferrari season. Front-wheel drive or 4x4 is strongly recommended, especially if weather is forecasted. Because of our rural location, occasional power or WiFi outages can happen. They’re rare, but they are beyond our control. We don’t offer refunds for outages. If there’s a prolonged issue, we’re happy to discuss rescheduling by mutual agreement. We provide firewood. It’s free to you — but not to us. There’s a small donation box in the cabin if you feel inclined to contribute. No pressure. Cell service can be limited depending on your carrier. WiFi works, but it’s stronger outside than inside. Think of it as encouragement to unplug. This is bear country. Between April and October you might spot one. They’re beautiful and usually uninterested in you. Be bear smart — secure food, don’t approach wildlife, and yes… running faster than your companion is still a solid survival strategy 😂 For official guidance, visit the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. Trails are open January 15 through September 1. While hunting is one of the safest recreational activities in the country, we can’t control activity on neighboring properties. For safety, trails close during hunting season. Dogs are welcome on the gravel driveway loop year-round. Foraging! On the farm you will find Paw paw, apples, pears, peaches, plums, chestnuts, mushrooms, berries, herbs, etc depending on the season. Please help yourself- for personal use DURING your stay. This only works if you are considerate of others. We planted a lot of this, so donations are always appreciated🙂 Coming in 2026: stocked trout pond for fly fishing. Message us for updates.
