Gladstone Country Retreat

Relax & unwind at this unique and tranquil getaway set on a rural block. Fully air-conditioned for year round comfort & plenty of verandah space to sit & watch the sunset. We have enjoyed re-purposing furniture and materials to create our comfortable, quirky cottage. You will find many retro curios alongside modern home comforts. Walking distance into Gladstone (1.2km) if you fancy a beverage or need to top up your cheese platter. A great base to kick off your Southern Flinders adventure. The space This little country cottage is set on a rural block. Enjoy the country vibes with the convenience of being 1.2km from the local grocery store. Creature comforts with a retro, eclectic decor. We love the clear night skies, sun setting over the range & hearing the sheep across the way. Set yourself up under the age old pepper tree to see the world from a different perspective. Cook up a BBQ & crank some tunes. You can play it loud here if that's your thing! It has been our haven while we renovated. We really hope others enjoy it as much as we do! Guest access A key safe is set up for easy access. We recommend the key be left in the safe while you are out & about, especially if a group of people staying. There are 2 bedrooms which can sleep up to 6 people. Bedroom one has a queen and single bed. It has its own TV & DVD player. (retro!! 😉) You can log in to your Netflix too. Bedroom 2 has a double & single bed. Both rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning & ceiling fans. The lounge & kitchen are open plan. In the lounge room there is a TV, DVD player & you can login to your Netflix. A selection of DVDs is provided & some books & games. There is a bassinet & portacot available if needed. Plenty of room to whip up a meal or to sit & relax with a book, a movie & nice drink. There is a large laundry/sunroom containing a sofa & child's table/chairs. A sliding door leads out to the side verandah & back yard. These areas are perfect for a cup of tea or coffee (or a cheeky beverage) on a winters day when the sun warms the room. The large modern bathroom contains a spacious shower & vanity. It has heating to take the chill out of the air when needed. The home has verandahs front & side & BBQ available. The WiFi signal is strong for those that need to do some work from home. Other things to note The nightly rate is for 2 people sharing one bed. Should you need a second bed there is a one off linen fee. Milk, coffee, tea, cereals & margarine are included. Cottage is well stocked with condiments, cling wrap & alfoil. Bookings of 7 nights or more receive a complimentary bottle of wine.
