We're here to help The space ONCE A DROVERS’ INN - NOW YOUR OWN PRIVATE COUNTRY ESCAPE The Tormaukin is an exclusive-use 1720s Scottish Country Inn in the Ochil Hills, sleeping up to 24 guests across ten bedrooms. You’ll have the entire inn to yourselves — including a private licensed bar, candlelit dining room, Garden Room, cosy snug and games room — all set within peaceful countryside surroundings. Warm, character-filled interiors with exposed beams and roaring fires create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re gathering for a celebration, retreating with colleagues or enjoying a golfing break, the inn offers space to come together and room to unwind. This isn’t a hotel stay - It’s your own private country inn. With ten bedrooms sleeping up to 20–24 guests, a proper licensed bar, a candlelit dining room with stone walls and beams, cosy fires, a snug, games room and a light-filled Garden Room, the inn has a lovely rhythm to it — spaces to gather, spaces to laugh, and quiet corners to sit with a dram. It feels relaxed. It feels personal. Corporate & Creative Retreats Midweek, the inn works beautifully for team retreats, strategy sessions and creative off-sites. The Garden Room is ideal for presentations or workshops, while the snug and dining room offer relaxed breakout spaces. With optional catering throughout your stay, everything feels seamless — productive during the day, relaxed in the evening. Golfing Groups Welcome We’re surrounded by excellent golf courses and regularly host golfing parties. Early breakfasts can be arranged, and the private bar is waiting for well-earned drinks after a day on the course. There’s plenty of space for clubs and kit — and you’ll have the entire inn to yourselves. Intimate Weddings We host a limited number of structured wedding weekends each year, with exclusive use of the inn. Sleeping up to 24 guests across ten bedrooms, the inn offers a mix of double & king rooms, with additional guest beds available if required. The layout includes: • Private licensed bar • Atmospheric dining room • Garden Room (ideal for gatherings or presentations) • Cosy snug with fire • Games room with pool & games • Outdoor areas overlooking the glen There is ample on-site parking. We are located in the Ochil Hills, approximately 25 minutes from Stirling (the gateway to The Highlands) & within easy reach of Gleneagles and surrounding golf courses. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both accessible by car, and nearby train stations offer convenient connections. The Tormaukin comfortably accommodates up to 21 guests, with flexibility for up to 24 in total by prior arrangement. • 10 individually styled ensuite bedrooms, each with either a double or king-size bed • Seven Olde Inn bedrooms upstairs within the original inn, rich with beams, charm, and character. Each have private ensuite bathrooms, walk-in showers (one with a roll-top bath), flat-screen TVs, and carefully chosen furnishings • Three dog-friendly Coach House bedrooms on the ground floor, each are ensuite with a bath with overhead shower, and have their own private entrances. One of these bedrooms is a family room, with a double and single bed. For larger or mixed-age groups, three additional single z-beds are available on request, allowing family or twin-style room configurations. Please message us for costings and layout options. ⸻ Inviting Living Spaces The ground floor offers a series of warm, characterful spaces designed for relaxed socialising: • The Snug - clad in tartan and full of personality, this cosy wildlife-themed room is the heart of the house. Perfect for a quiet dram, a good book from the mini-library, or unwinding by the fire. • Games Room - an elegant white-panelled lounge with exposed stone walls & oak beams, comfy seating, and an antique walnut pool table. Enjoy friendly tournaments, chess, darts or a game of dominoes. • Authentic licensed Bar - a dramatic, rich red bar that lets you 'play the pub landlord or landlady' for the stay. Optional spirit selections, bespoke gin or whisky bars, and full bar stocking can be arranged in advance. • Traditional Dining Room - oak-beamed, atmospheric, and ideal for memorable group meals around the table. • Garden Room - light-filled and tranquil, with French doors opening onto the front patio and garden seating. ⸻ Kitchen & Dining Options The inn features a large professional kitchen, equipped with an electric oven, induction hobs, microwaves, generous fridge space, chest freezer, dishwasher and ample crockery, cutlery, serving ware - ideal for confident self-caterers. We do host weddings and celebration events, but these must be arranged directly with us prior to booking so that we can ensure everything runs smoothly and within our licensing and staffing arrangements. If you’re considering a ceremony, reception, stag or hen celebration, please message us before booking to discuss availability and packages. For approved events, catering is provided exclusively by our in-house private chef and team. External caterers, bar suppliers or entertainment providers are not permitted. Pets Well-behaved dogs are always very welcome at The Tormaukin. A pet fee of £40 per dog, per stay applies, with a maximum of 4 dogs. Dogs are welcome in all downstairs living areas, and must sleep in the Coach House bedrooms only. Dogs must not be left unattended at any time. ⸻ The Tormaukin isn’t simply somewhere to stay — it’s a country inn to inhabit, share and make your own. Whether you come to celebrate, explore the hills, enjoy time on the golf course or simply slow down by the fire, you’ll leave feeling restored, connected and already planning your return. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy full use of the inn throughout their stay, including all interior living spaces. The only areas not accessible are a small number of private storerooms and cellars. Your booking also includes exclusive use of the outdoor areas, front patio, and on-site car park, giving you plenty of space to relax both inside and out. Other things to note Little touches to make your stay even more special! If you’re celebrating something special, we’re very happy to help add those thoughtful finishing touches that turn a stay into a memorable experience. For the bedrooms, we can arrange a bottle of bubbly with chocolate-dipped strawberries as a surprise for that special someone. We also offer fresh seasonal floral arrangements, created by our in-house florist, along with seasonal table settings and floral dining table displays to beautifully dress your dining space. For events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, or informal celebrations, party-style decorations can also be arranged - such as balloons, banners, and coordinated decorative touches - all styled sympathetically to suit the character of the country retreat.
