Lincoln's Loft - Hawthorne suite is a beautifully renovated, 1600 sq ft, street level apartment in downtown Lincoln, IL that was completed in March of 2021. Lincoln's Loft - Hawthorne Suite is an experience in itself. Decorated to emulate the untouchables, Eliot Ness’ office where they worked to track and convict Al Capone. This historically renovated space is a prime location for entertaining your group downtown, quiet family getaway, or a friends weekend. The space The space features a large, open concept layout with a great room comprised of a fully equipped kitchen, dining area that sits 4 people, and a living space with two couches. The unit features historical elements with a beautiful original stamped 18 ft tin ceilings. As you walk into the unit it will be hard to miss the staircase that leads to the secondary lofted livingroom above the private bedrooms. In the loft area there is a half bath, 2 sofa's and a large siting chair with ottoman, a 50 inch TV and a dresser full of board games, along with a poker table and 2 twin beds with a dresser. Back downstairs and down the hallway, the first set of double doors you will find the master bedroom that has 2 queen size beds, and 3 side tables., along with places to hang your clothes. The second set of double doors leads to another bedroom with a queen size bed, large lighted closet, and a full laundry facility. Further down the hall is a "selfie area" with the original brick halls exposed and ample lighting for pictures that will last a lifetime, along with the full bath with a 36 inch vanity and 4 foot shower with a glass enclosure. This unit is located inside a historically preserved property with the original stamped tin ceiling, there is a possibility of hearing footsteps from the Lincoln's Loft unit above when both units are occupied. On occasion we can accommodate early check-in and late check-outs. It is an extra $10 an hour, paid in advance. If you are interested, please reach out to us so we can check for availability. Guest access Guests are available to access all parts of their suite with exclusion to the locked door in the loft that houses the furnaces for both upstairs units, and the closet off the downstairs bath that is the owners closet. Other things to note There is an Amtrak train station 3 blocks from Lincoln’s Loft. The train does come through at nighttime and does blow its horn. Some conductors are more overzealous in their horn usage than others. Some are very kind and only blow the horn 1 or 2 times. You may hear it. It has been a frequent discussion in city counsel meetings, but the majority of the townspeople agree that safety should come first and the train horn is there to ensure the track is clear. The ceiling in the loft area is 6 feet tall. It could hinder some from standing up completely, typical of a loft. The entire downstairs is either vaulted or 7’6” tall. If you need any infant supplies (play pen, infant tub, bumbo seat) please let me know and I will leave them in your suite free of charge.
