High speed wifi makes remote work and streaming tv easy. Lake access via nearby public landing. The space This light-filled home has it all - secluded forest privacy, soaring views of an iconic lake and mountains, and nearby recreation. Large windows throughout the house showcase nature's glory in all four seasons. Wake up to lake and mountain views and fall asleep to the sound of loons in the main bedroom with its own private deck and bath. Relax on the wraparound deck and kick back in the living room featuring vaulted ceilings and large screen tv. An open kitchen has everything you need to cook and entertain. You may never want to leave this treetop heaven. At the same time, you're steps away from a nine-hole golf course and the legendary Lucerne Inn, which offers fine dining, a relaxed outdoor grill and a take out food truck. The lake itself is just a few yards away and is accessible during the summer through a two-week membership to a private beach club or daily year-round via a public boat launch. If you want to explore the wonders of Downeast Maine, this also is the perfect spot for day tripping to the most idyllic coastal towns and the wonder that is Acadia National Park. Guest access Guests have access to the full home, including a a laundry room and finished area of the basement that can function as a private office or hangout room. We do ask that guests not access the utility/furnace area of the basement, which is separated by doors from the hangout space. There is ample room for parking multiple cars in the driveway. Please note: -We are in the process of returning the lawn to its natural field/forest state, so it may not look exactly as in the photos, depending on the time of year. We also recently had a few dead trees cut down, so you may see the stumps and that the yard is a bit torn up in places. -The garage in the driveway is not connected to the house and is not used by guests, except to plug in electric vehicles via the charging outlet. Please see the photos in the listing to review the charging setup. -We do keep supplies in the garage and on rare occasions, we need to access the building for supplies or maintenance. Once or twice a year, we may allow a quiet, low key close friend or family member to stay in the apartment above the garage, in which case we will provide advance notice and allow for cancellation. -Though we are in an extremely accessible area, the house is in the Maine woods. This means that nature is all around -- usually outside. Please be aware that you may see the occasional raccoon, fox, skunk, deer or other creature roaming the neighborhood. Bees, wasps, mosquitoes and caterpillars are common. Birds make nests on the deck. Every now and then, a mouse or a few ants find their way inside the house, despite regular pest-control servicing. Please do let us know if you have any issues during your stay, and we will make every attempt to address them asap. Other things to note 1. The house was recently renovated and fully equipped for all weather conditions with propane tanks and window a/c units. For long term rentals, utilities, fuel and plowing are not included but may be negotiated. 2. The kitchen is outfitted for cooking and entertaining, with a new range, microwave, and refrigerator. Useful kitchen amenities include a Mr. Coffee machine, an electric kettle, a coffee bean grinder and a toaster oven. 3. For EV charging, we provide Level 1 and Level 2 outdoor charging outlets near the garage door. 4. The broadband is fiber optic and 200mbps. 5. There is no access to the unattached nearby garage.
