Former home of the Carriage and Wagon foreman James Armstrong, his wife Hannah and their 5 children. They moved in around 1883. 8 Melton Street was constructed in 1881 and was used specifically for employees of the then Eastern & Midlands Railway. Latterly to be known as the M & GNJR. The kitchen is well equipped with a radio, double electric fan oven, extractor, induction hob, microwave, fridge & freezer, USB charging points available. Walk past the kitchen and find the downstairs bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and washbasin. The bathroom is a reasonable size, and bright. The living room has a pair of two seater settees, a rocking chair, TV with remote, Wi-Fi, magazines of local interest, board games, books of railway interest. Head back into the kitchen diner, and ascend the stairs to the first floor. First Floor The bedrooms are on the first floor of the cottage and ooze character and charm. Bedroom 1 offers a King Size sleigh bed with bedside tables & lamps, Dressing table and free standing mahogany compactum wardrobe. Bedroom 2 offers a true vintage victorian brass double bed with bedside tables and lamps. Bedroom 3 Is the en-suite dressing room for bedroom 2, comprising of dressing table built in wardrobe, and full length mirror and arm chair. This room also contains a single folding bed suitable for a young person. Outside To the rear of the property is a spacious and pretty fully fenced private garden. The garden comprises of a patio terraced area with table and chairs available, perfect for al fresco dining and an evening drink. Leading to a grassed area, flower beds, and fruiting trees. BBQ available. Beyond the gate is a private gravelled parking area, access via an unmade lane. Notes Linen and Towels are included within price. Other things to note The third bedroom acts as a dressing room for the second bedroom and is accessed via the 2nd bedroom. However the third bedroom does contain a small single fold up bed, so could accommodate one additional small adult or teenager. The property is not suitable for toddlers or small children.
