Mohicanville Hideaway
Enjoy a tranquil getaway at this cozy and historic 1836 log home in the woods. During your stay, you will be greeted with a tasteful mix of antique features, Amish craftsmanship, and comfort. Start your day with a cup of coffee or tea on the screened porch in the company of the deer who often visit. End your day relaxing in the hot tub or unwinding next to a wood-burning fire (inside or out) before luxuriating in bamboo sheets for a restful night's sleep. The space The log home features a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a screened porch overlooking the creek, three bedrooms, laundry facilities, two and a half bathrooms, WIFI, and TVs in the living room and each bedroom. The main floor master suite boasts cathedral ceilings, a king bed, a cedar-lined walk-in closet, French doors opening to a private deck, and a private bathroom with a shower and antique claw foot tub. Located on the second floor, the second bedroom has a queen bed, a walk-in closet, and a seating area. Around the corner, the third bedroom is a sweet rose room with an antique iron double bed and walk-in closet. Between the second and third bedrooms is a full bathroom with an antique copper tub (but no shower) and vintage toilet. Outside, enjoy the sound of birds and other wildlife as you take a stroll through the hosta gardens and woods. A patio includes a barbeque grill, picnic table with chairs, fire pit with Amish-built cedar benches, and hot tub. Lights illuminate the patio at night. Firewood is provided for your convenience. As you plan your stay, please keep in mind that you may encounter poison ivy or other similar plants, mosquitoes and other insects, and wildlife. Unfortunately, we were in the path of a storm last year and clean-up is progressing. Please bear with us and take precautions while hiking near damaged trees. Guest access During your stay, you will have access to the main and second floors of the log home. You will also be able to explore the outdoors, including the patio area, deck off of the master bedroom, and surrounding woods and creek. Other things to note Join us between Thanksgiving and New Years for enchanting holiday decorations in every room.
