The space This guesthouse is loft style sleeping quarters, upstairs. 2 queen beds and one twin. Bathroom is also upstairs and powder bath downstairs. First level has your galley style kitchen, dining, entertaining area. Open barn doors during the summer months to enjoy indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Guest access Entire 1500 square foot house. Full bath and shower upstairs. Powder bath and new kitchen and scullion room with bigscreen tv downstairs Other things to note Swans’s Island is very much a working lobster/fishing community. This means your neighbors are early to bed, early to rise. Please be mindful and keep noise level down past 8:00pm. Getting to the Island will definitely take some planning. You must take the Ferry from Bass Harbor, accessed via MDI. During the summer months, MDI becomes more congested so allow for ample time. You can find the ferry schedule and prices on maine. gov or swansisland. org has a link. They take reservations for up to 4 cars and 2 trucks (over 20') for an extra $17 per way. If you don't make a reservation, the rule of thumb is to get into line when previous ferry leaves. Swans island is dry. As in, one cannot buy alcohol on the island. Please plan accordingly and bring your own ample supplies. Also, there aren’t any restaurants on the island so bring your own food. There is a small store (T.I.M.S.) which is amazing! You can buy groceries or supplemental supplies, open 10-5 daily. Think ahead about sunscreen, swimsuits, etc. Note: Hot tub will be shutdown Jan.2-April 15.
