Hi, I’m a potter working and living in West Somerset. I run pottery workshops and sell my work. Situated near the Quantock hills in the heart of Wiveliscombe, The Potter’s Flat makes for a peaceful visit with all local amenities to hand. The flat is on the first floor above my ceramics studio. The house was converted to a shop and accommodation in the 1840’s having previously been a brewery warehouse. With large rooms (especially the kitchen!), the flat suits 2 but there's space for a third. The space Guests enter the flat through the ground floor next to the pottery. The Potter’s Flat consists of a large comfortable sitting room with open fireplace and TV. The spacious kitchen and dining room with access to a balcony and deck with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The bedroom has a king size bed, dressing table and sink. A large window faces west with truly beautiful views across rooftops to the rolling hills beyond. All rooms are connected from a large hallway with a utility room with washing machine and sink, the shower and toilet are at the other end of this room. There is excellent WiFi and full central heating. A third travel companion can be accommodated by a cosy bed that we make up for you at the end of the large living room. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the whole of the Potter's Flat. Having entered through the main door of Old London House, at the top of the first landing the flat has its own private door. Other things to note The Potter’s Flat, is the home of the potter herself! To create this lovely accommodation, Jo moves up to a smaller apartment at the top of the house. Therefore, you will have all the mod cons and comforts of a fully equipped home. There will be some of Jo's personal belongings in designated drawers or locked cupboards. Please use the tea/coffee and cooking basics. As for the use of utilities, please respect normal and reasonable use. There is roadside parking restricted to half an hour (enough time to unload luggage) Thereafter, guests can park for free in one of the towns 2 public carparks which are 5 minutes walk away from the flat. The accommodation is not suitable for pets. This is a private fully furnished flat within a family home (sharing front door, and stairs with us) Although our family home is in a quiet neighbourhood, there may at times be the sound of children from joining properties.
