A small paradise above the gulf of Trieste. Nature, sea, sun, taste, energy, enjoy, relax, feel, smell, listen. Enjoy this wonderful place, close enough to the city and the main sights, but far enough from the hustle and bustle. It’s a perfect base for exploring the surroundings and then come back and relax on the terrace with spectacular views of the Gulf of Trieste, the illuminated city skyline, and the sunset. The space We welcome you in our house, which was built in 1850 by Nicola’s great-grandfather who came down the hills barefoot from the Slovenian Karst to build a home. Recently we have started to renovate this paradise with a lot of attention and care in order to conserve the soul and flair of the house and pay respect to the ancestors. Many elements are still old-fashioned, like the original box-windows. We are constantly improving. You will have a big bedrooms with a double-bed at your disposal, as well as usage of the shared areas, like bathroom and toilet, fully-equipped kitchen (stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge), and the terrace, of course. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner on the terrace, looking at the gulf of Trieste, relax on our two sunbeds, or read a book in the hammock. During the time of the BARCOLANA (in October), the world’s biggest sailing regatta, you will be able to observe the whole spectacle from your prime spot on our terrace. If you visit us at the right time, there might be fruit and vegetables from the garden (grapes, peaches, kaki, zucchini,…). ATTENTION: The house is located on a steep road where a parking space is available for guests in a convenient garage inside the property. Bicycles can also be stored inside. The house is accessed from the street and the garage via three flights of stairs. There is the option to wash your clothes for a small fee.
