Description
Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. just birdsong and the distant sound of cows mooing. It's hard to believe it's only 2 miles from the A40 and just 10 mins from Ross on Wye or Monmouth. Kingsize bed, freestanding bath and walk in shower. Squidgy sofas, fully equipped kitchen. U/F heating. Adults only. 3pm-11.00am check in/out. Views of the hills from every window. Large private garden (with your own Oak Tree). Private entrance and off road parking for 2 car. The space The total quiet and hill views in every direction offer guests a tranquil getaway. The hedges and wildflower meadow are rich with species with paths mown through them. Symonds Yat is 3 miles away, Cannop Cycle Centre in the Forest of Dean is a 20 minute drive and Monmouth and Ross on Wye are each about a 10 minute drive. Sorry we can't accommodate dogs (except service dogs), babies or children - we aren't set up for little ones - we know that sometimes we come up in the search despite having specified this - apologies if this has happened to you - we have done our best but it still seems to be happening! Guest access The Meadow is shared (occasionally) with us and our Springer spaniel but we always aim to give guests as much privacy as possible. There is a drying room for boots and coats/wetsuits. This is located just behind the property. A locked workship is available to guests for bike storage and canoes can be stored in the yard. Please note the summerhouse and guest shed shown in some photos have now been removed. Other things to note We manage our 2 acres environmentally and you might think it looks messy in places - that is because we allow flowers like cowslips to seed and to provide habitats for wildlife - we have stag beetles, red kites, foxes...even an otter (though yet to see it). We do mow the lawns around The Old Woodshed and there are lots of seats and huge outdoor floor cushions for guests to sit in shade or sun. We seem to have acquired a crazy amount of outdoor cooking and heating paraphernalia - fire pits, bbq, pizza oven, rocket stove, charcoal tagines, kelly kettle, tripod and dutch oven - they are all available for guests to borrow (except on the very odd occasion we are using them). We'll always try to extend your stay beyond the 3pm-11.00am times if we don't have a back to back changeover.
