The Willow Shepherd's Hut, Isle of Wight

Welcome to The Willow at Hillway Huts, a shepherd's hut located on the outskirts of the village of Bembridge, Isle of Wight. A unique place to stay with views of the surrounding countryside, Bembridge airfield and our chickens. A short walk to Whitecliff Bay, the coastal path, local footpaths, a pub, bus stop and on the Round the Island cycle route. A cosy, comfortable living space with a kitchen, king sized bed, bathroom with large shower and private outside patio to relax and watch the sunset. The space Named after the tree in the field it sits in, The Willow is perfectly positioned to take in the wonderful views. Overlooking our hens, Culver Down and Bembridge Down, you can enjoy a cup of tea at sunrise before exploring the beautiful island. In the evening, relax with a glass watching the sunset or enjoy the cosy feeling of using the log burner in the colder months. Surrounded by a variety of birds, butterflies and wildlife. Park in your designated space on the gravel driveway, place your bike in the secure outdoor storage shed or hop off the bus outside. Follow the stepping stone path to the hut. Living Double patio doors open to the far reaching views from where you can sit dining or reading in large comfortable chairs, with padded seat, backrest and arms within the peaceful space. To be outdoors, step down onto the circular patio to more relaxing seating. The log burner is a fun, unique experience, use the logs and kindling provided to light your own fire in the winter months (full instructions are included in our handy information booklet!). Kitchen The perfectly sized cooking space with everything you need is fully equipped with utensils, ceramic sink, a small fridge with a small freezer section, an induction hob, a microwave and cupboard space. Bedroom Relax in a king size bed with cotton bedding for a good nights sleep. Look over at the downs through the window at the end of the bed, with layered curtains to let in and keep out light. Clothes hangers and a shelf with a bluetooth speaker and binoculars along with under bed storage, hairdryer and a fan are all available to use. Bathroom A large shower, sink and standard toilet, towels and a spectacular view over the airfield and vegetable beds. Hooks and shelves for making yourself comfortable during your stay. Outside A unique, private space within traditional shepherd's hooks and festoon lighting. Enjoy the outdoors using the comfortable dining chairs and table with a parasol provided. Keep an eye on our chickens whilst admiring the views and relive your youth on the tree swing! A secure, purpose built storage shed for your personal use is positioned next to the hut, close to the parking area. Guest access You are welcome to use the outside surrounding space inside the fenced field - enjoy watching the chickens (please do not open the gate to their enclosure!), have a go on the tree swing and use the grass areas in the field to enjoy the views and do some plane spotting. Feel free to admire the vegetable patch but please do not access through any 'Private' gates. We own a cocker spaniel named Polly. She will be secure in our private areas during your stay.
