Microwave, coffee makers, fridge, oven/stove, & BBQs.Three bdrms & 1 bath + outhouse. A canoe, 2 kayaks & life jackets available. Pet Friendly The space Quiet area - no sound of traffic. If there's 2+ boats on Old Man's lake, that's considered 'busy'. This feature stands out in comparison to other cottages that are close to major highways or busy roads. The closest main road is approximately 25 mins away and Hwy 11 is nearly 30 minutes away. Run out of something, the famous family run Cornball store with homemade bakery items and groceries is just a 4 minute drive. Great area for beautiful scenery including autumn colours - it's worth it just for the magnificent colours. Take a hike at the historic Old Man's Creek less than a 10 minute walk (700 m). Visit the famous Screaming Heads in Burks Falls - approx. 12 km drive; horseback riding near by; or just hang out at the dock, gazebo or cottage deck. Create a fire in the pit located by the shore and make smores / roasted marshmallows. Sit out on the dock or gazebo or hammock and enjoy a good book. There are books available for your pleasure. We have both Thermacell and bug rackets for potential mosquito visits - although they're around briefly before calling it a night later when it cools down. Games - we have outdoor lawn games such as ring toss, cornball toss, and bocci (located in mudroom); indoor board games, cards and other games as well as X-Box One for your entertainment. Use of a 14-foot aluminum boat (no motor and no anchor) is also available as well as two (2) kayaks, one canoe + life vests and noodles. Staying indoors, stream Netflix, Prime (Britbox, PBS Masterpiece, Acorn), Crave or Bell Fibe; read a non-fiction murder mystery or watch a DVD. Licence # - 2026-014 Guest access Starlink high-speed internet is available for surfing and streaming. Basic TV cable is also available. There are no limitations to where you can venture on the property. We expect our guests to respect our neighbours and the environment. The garage access is there for the storage of garbage only - until you depart and take with you. We live in Huntsville, and are only allowed one (1) garbage bag / week so we CANNOT accommodate any more, therefore you are expected to take your garage with you. Recyclables can remain at the cottage - Huntsville has no limits on the amount of recyclables we put out. Other things to note We don't believe that guests should provide their own bedding/linen or even towels - too much to pack and too bulky. Each bed will have freshly washed and sanitized bedding and linen along with pillows and extra blankets for chilly nights + one electric blanket. However, if you have a favourite pillow, by all means bring with you. In addition, both shower, hand towels and face cloths will also be provided, so no need to pack that either. Other items you needn't concern yourself about include: basic spices, oil, spray oil, balsamic vinegar, toilet paper, paper towels, tea, coffee, popcorn (a brand new popcorn maker is there), cleaning items, garbage bags and even doggy pee pads (if required). There may also be other items that you may forget that may be available (assuming I remember to replenish) e.g., toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, etc. Forget sun tan lotion or bug spray, we likely have extra. Help yourselves to supplies there. We have a number of different coffee methods to choose from including K-cups (some k-cups to get you started), coffee beans + grinder, drip coffee machine + ground coffee + filters, and one coffee maker with built-in grinder. if you have a favourite K-cup flavour, bring with you. What to bring: enough water for making coffee, tea, drinking, and for cooking; lake water is used for washing the dishes and showers - it is not for consumption; personal items including toiletries. We will have on-hand a Thermacell DEET-Free Mosquito/Insect Repellent as well as some bug spray and bug rackets. This is a rather remote area and there are no designated bike trails although you're welcome to challenge the hilly roads in the area. There are many cyclists that I have seen challenge the winding and sometimes hilly terrain in the area. The cottage has four 'double' beds, although three of them are slightly smaller than a double and each were custom made in 2023. Due to Magnetawan by-laws for STRs, only two (2) people are allowed per bedroom, so we can only accommodate 6 guests. Some basic rules: ** Please read when enquiring** 1: Please respect the cottage, property and our neighbours. Enjoy yourselves but please keep noise to a minimum. There are strict STRs rules in Magnetawan and bylaws broken e.g., noise, fire, exceeding 2 person / bedroom can incur a fine which will be pass on to the guests. 2: Our toilet system is on septic, so we ask that you only use toilet paper, which is provided. No flushable wipes, feminine hygiene products, etc. Sanitary disposal bags are available. 3: Extra un-registered guests are not allowed. if we exceed our allowable capacity, we will be fined and that fine will be forwarded to you. 4: Please pick up after your pet - pooh bags are provided. 5: NO smoking or vaping indoors. If you smoke outside, please please respect the property and earth and pick up buds. 6. Take the garbage with you - we cannot accommodate. Feel free to leave the recyclables. 7. Upon departing, please turn off lights, A/C, heating.
