Description

Our family's old house is great for families and small groups to spend solid time together without getting on each others' nerves. No planning necessary! Together or alone, enjoy walking to the beach, exploring the fire roads of Cape Cod National Seashore, biking, running, walking, swimming in Truro's bay, ponds, or ocean, canoeing from the house or getting a fishing charter from Pamet Harbor. In the evenings, gather around the fireplace or barbecue on the front lawn looking over Pamet Harbor. The space Historic, secluded, handsome, three-bedroom on Truro's Old County Road. Magical setting, overlooking Pamet Harbor. Painted thrice by Edward Hopper in 1931-32 (see attached images). Tucked away at end of long private driveway on two acres of pine and locust forest. Not your run-of-the mill rental, this is truly a special spot. The house itself is more than 235 years old, and has been maintained well, but with a full appreciation for its unique and historic character. Antique furniture. Plenty of sunlight. Pine floors and period wallpaper. Every room has a special aura, warm and reminiscent of another era. A wonderful space for entertaining or for peaceful solitude. Water view. Picnic table in yard. Comfortable, fully-functional and well-appointed eat-in kitchen with dishwasher. Large living/dining room, with fireplace. One sleep-able futon in its own room downstairs. Master bedroom with large dressing room and full bathroom with stall shower and pressure bidet. Middle bedroom with two single beds and large closet. Third bedroom cozy, charming. Outdoor shower and sink, TV & DVD player. Outdoor grill. Canoe provided for tenant use. Nearest Airport : Logan Airport at 100 Miles (tiny P-town airport at 13 miles) Nearest Ferry : Provincetown at 13 Miles Nearest Train : Boston at 100 Miles Nearest Motorway : Rt. 6, Pamel Roads exit at 1 Mile Nearest Beach : Fisher Beach at 0.3 Miles Car: recommended The house is located next to Pamet Salt Marsh, and looks out to Pamet Harbor. At high tide, it's possible to launch a canoe or kayak from the front yard, and paddle out to the bay. 10-minute walk to Fisher Beach (bayside) along marsh; 3 minutes by car. 8-10 minute drive to Ballston Beach (ocean side). It's an ideal location for walking, biking and quiet repose. The house abuts a small hill with spectacular views of Cape Cod bay and P-town beyond. Driveway has ample parking. Shops in Truro Center are 5 minutes by car. There's solid cell phone reception at house. Four week preference, discounts given to longer rentals. Guest access You'll have the entire house to yourselves. There may be someone in the small caretaker's quarters onsite, just behind the house. If you need anything during your stay or have any questions, text or call Danny.. Enjoy your stay! Other things to note The old railroad grade in front of the house is a de facto public walking path connecting Fisher Road to the marsh and Poor's Hill. Don't be alarmed if you see our friendly neighbors walking through.
