Unwind and enjoy this serene, spacious 2 story studio nestled in a beautiful 20 acres on lovely little Anderson Island, just a 20 min ferry ride from Steilacoom. The land includes orchards, a vineyard, food crops, and natural creek. Sip morning tea or espresso on the deck overlooking gorgeous trees, meadow, and seasonal pond. Cook a delicious meal and relax with a DVD after exploring. Five minute drive or easy bike ride to swim in the lakes or sea, or hike trails in multiple coastal preserves. Please read the entire listing before booking. We want to make sure our guests know what to expect. Thank you! The Sunny Studio looks out over our landscape where we are restoring a vineyard, fruit tree orchards and a large food-growing area. Once the Anderson Island Vineyard & Winery, the land is now being regenerated to offer farm fresh produce, culinary mushrooms, farm stays, small-scale events, and more. We do not use any chemicals on our land and practice regenerative agriculture and permaculture. We are intentionally caring for the ecosystem to ensure long-term health and resilience. We hope you will fall in love with our gorgeous setting. Guests can walk around the property, which offers a nice mix of forest and meadow. The land offers tranquility and inspiration. At the same time, our family is working to build our farm vision. So, you may hear the signs...a tractor perhaps, or other farm work going on. You will most likely see us or other visitors during your stay. We welcome chats with visitors and are happy to share more about our story! The bright, two-story AirBnb studio is located above and on the south side of our garage, at a short distance from our home. Upstairs has “open-style” floor plan with bedroom and living area in one large, bright open space up a rather steep set of stairs. (NOTE: baby gate available on request.) There is a very comfortable king-size bed and in the living area, a double futon sofa with bedding provided. Option to have twin mattress made up on the floor as well. Kitchen and ¾ bath downstairs. Off the studio kitchen is a glass door that leads out to a private deck overlooking a seasonal pond and lovely landscape. Outside on the deck, we have a table and umbrella where you can enjoy meals al-fresco, as well as a propane Weber grill to use. Or you can prepare meals in the kitchen using our small, but functional electric stove and oven or the microwave. Plenty of pots and other cooking tools. The studio features wood floors, large windows, heat and A/C. Our farm is located in the center of the island, a short drive or bike ride from just about anywhere else on our small island, including hiking trails, beaches, swimming lakes, a lakeside restaurant, a café & convenience store and a historic farm and homestead museum. Studio, and attached deck. Guests can explore the woods and meadows on the property, take a short walk up a mellow hill on a dirt road that leads across a shaded, seasonal creek and as far as the deer fence leading into orchard and vineyard. If you would like to see more such as the abundant "no till" food garden, brief tours may be available upon request. We are happy to provide tours of our land and projects by request and pending availability. Please message us with any requests or questions. There is plenty of parking onsite. Bikes are a fun way to see the island, so feel free to bring yours. We do not have dedicated bike paths on the island. * Get to our place by the Pierce County ferry. It’s a beautiful 20 minute ride, and helps you leave the hectic side behind. There are some amenities in Steilacoom near the ferry waiting lanes (a pub, ice cream, playground). For more info visit the website for Pierce County Ferry. * WIFI is available * The studio has a DVD player with TV screen. There is no cable, or Netflix streaming on this TV set-up. You should be able to stream on your own device however. * Though the studio is a private space for guests, it is connected to our garage and workshop through a shared entry way where we sometimes dry our fruit, herbs, flowers etc. It is not its own stand-alone building, but it is detached from our home. * The cell reception is spotty on our land, including the studio, but around the corner at the general store, there is good reception. * We currently host farm volunteers, as well as a collaborative venture with a local gourmet mushroom company (Moontime Mushroom Co.) and occasional educational events and workshops. We inform our guests via text in advance on any events occurring during stays. * Depending on the time of year of your visit, please consider requesting our premium amenities for your stay such as a curated harvest of our fresh, organic fruits and veggies, or farm fresh eggs, or gourmet mushrooms. Farm tours are also available. (Workshops and more from our land coming soon!).
