Our 2-bedroom annexe provides guests with the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life whilst being close to a wide variety of towns to explore and places to eat out. With its separate lounge, well-equipped kitchen and inviting outdoor space, you can happily relax here, with plenty of lovely walks straight from your door. The space Should you want to bring your equine best friend, we have equestrian facilities, including a menage, please ask for more information. Whether you seek relaxation or a base from which to explore the area, our annexe promises an unforgettable stay surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the countryside. About the space Root House is on one level and suitable for all, with easy access. Children are also very welcome. It has a wood burning stove in the lounge, a smart TV, and WIFI. Both bedrooms have kingsize beds, however, there is space in the main bedroom to put a further single mattress if needed. Bedlinen, towels, and a welcome pack are provided. Other information Please note, we have horses, two dogs, chickens and a cat which you will see during your stay (all are friendly!), you may even be able to collect your own eggs for breakfast – but Root House will not be suitable for those with severe animal allergies. The area Wigborough is a small hamlet, easily accessible from the main road network. It is a 5 minute drive to South Petherton, the closest village which has a fantastic bakery, butcher and green grocer, along with a small co-op. Historic towns of Chard, Crewkerne & Ilminster are less than 15 minutes away all of which have a variety of shops and cafes. Large supermarkets are no more than a 15 minute drive. There are lots of places to eat within a short distance, an award-winning pub is walking distance, with several other pubs being a short drive, all offering good food. If a takeaway is needed, one is nearby and they also deliver. From here many attractions are easily accessible: the beach at Lyme Regis and Jurassic Coast about 35 minutes away, the Clarks shopping village in Street about 25 minutes. There are lots of National Trust properties nearby and Longleat safari park is close enough for a day out too.
