Living room: Spacious living room with large windows and views of the nature reserve. Inside a large huddlenet where you can chill out — for children and adults. Record player with LP collection, Bluetooth boxes and a cupboard full of board games. For the evenings when no one wants to go to bed. Kitchen: This is a kitchen to really cook in — and to spend time together. Bar with 3 stools so you can have a drink while the food is being made. Quooker, induction hob, Nespresso with milk frother, oven, large fridge and freezer, wine climate cabinet and plenty of pans and crockery for extensive and cozy dinners. Bedrooms: Three bedrooms with king-size box-spring beds and M-line mattresses — to be used as doubles or as two single beds. Blackout curtains, mosquito nets and built-in blinds in the large windows. You sleep deeply here. Bathrooms: Three spacious bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one with a bathtub. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner from Marie Stella Maris available. Sauna and outdoor shower: The Finnish sauna with infrared and outdoor shower is the highlight after a long day of hiking or cycling — or just because you can. Warm up, sweat, cool down outside. With beautiful views of the garden. Garden and terrace: A forest garden of 2,400m² — big enough to lose each other for a while. Large terrace with Kamado BBQ and outdoor dining table, two hammocks and a swing. From the garden you can walk and cycle directly into the Drents-Friese would. The garden is not fenced – there is a 25m and 90 cm high sheep net to fence off the terrace. Practical extras: Air conditioning, fiber optic wifi, washing machine and dryer, charging station for electric cars, parking for 3 cars. Surroundings: From the forest garden, you walk directly into the Drents-Friese Wold — the second-largest nature reserve in the Netherlands, and one of the most pristine places you can find in our country. Forests, heathlands, sand dunes, and small lakes alternate. A different route every day, something new every day. For the active guest: mountain bike routes, long cycling routes past village greens and dolmens, or a day of canoeing on the Weerribben. For those who prefer a quieter pace: a morning walk, a book in the hammock, and firing up the Kamado in the afternoon for a slow BBQ. The Havelte golf course (18 holes, beautiful woodland course) is located 10 km away — highly recommended for those who can handle the pace. Nearby restaurants: Bij de Sluis, Onder de Eiken, de Bospub, and Fanelli's for ice cream and coffee. You will receive a comprehensive tips email from us in advance. For dog owners, there is the wading pool at Lake Canada and the off-leash area, the Wet Noses Route. We provide all routes and a map when you book the villa.
