Alderwood Farm - Courtyard Suite

Come rest and rejuvenate on a private and quiet 5-acre heritage hobby farm on beautiful Bowen Island. This is a unique experience on Bowen. Enjoy elevated views, gardens, quirky farm animals, gourmet home-cooked food, and gifts from our farm store, and a wonderful assortment of trails and beaches nearby. Your suite is appointed with a queen bed, large open concept bathroom, tea/coffee station, and garden patio with furniture for outdoor dining and lounging. Guests must be 14+. The space The Courtyard Suite is on the ground floor of the main farmhouse with its own private entryway from a large, private patio accessed from the gardens above the farm store. The beautifully appointed, character rich room is cozy with a comfortable queen bed, large open-concept bathroom with shower, Mexican tile, and stained glass accents. Enjoy a complimentary selection of coffee and teas in the morning in the suite or on the patio. We can offer suggestions of activities to explore on Bowen—hiking, cycling, golf, kayaking are all available and nearby, as is the cove with its many cute restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, galleries, and shops. The farm itself has much to offer—hang out with our beloved farm animals (donkeys, ostriches, ducks and more), wander the large 5 acre property, grab a picnic blanket and a treat from the shop and relax on the quiet grounds. OPTIONAL BREAKFAST ADD ON: Please let us know if you would like to add the Continental Farm Breakfast to your reservation. The cost is an additional $19 per person per day for a breakfast that you can enjoy in your room or on your patio. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions as we are happy to accommodate them. FARM SHOP: Using primarily organic produce and ingredients, our products combine inventive recipes with skill-full and passionate cooking. The shop carries a collection of lovingly crafted meals often veggie or vegan, take home delights such as our homemade pizzas and pies as well as a selection of our homemade soups and dips. We try to support a variety of eating choices and challenges so have items that work for gluten or dairy free preferences. The shop not only creates delicious healthy food but also is a mecca for unusual health products and medicinal herbs, rejuvenating elixirs and tonics. THINGS TO DO/ ACTIVITY ADD ONS: Ask us about group and private YOGA, as well as about GYROTONICS sessions offered by farm owners, Jules and Cornelius. We also have connections to local MASSAGE therapists who offer massage in house, as well as SPA treatments like facials using natural ingredients. We can also connect you with other offerings (sometimes with discounts) on the island through partner businesses—e.g., KAYAK and BIKE rentals, forest SAUNA sessions, chartered BOAT and FISHING, and so much more! OPTIONAL PICNIC BASKET ADD ON: Want to pre order your picnic hamper for your day’s adventure? We can put together a mixture of Menu items with some cold beverages, baked goods, chocolate etc. to be brought for a picnic, kayak trip or hike and can have items ready out of the oven if you’d like to dine in and watch the world go by with a glass of wine. If you are celebrating a special occasion we can arrange flowers, chocolate, wine or champagne to be ready for your arrival to start the celebration when you check in. Guest access You'll have access to your private suite and free roam of our 5 acre farm. Stop by our specialty Farm Shop for food and goodies and gifts. Other things to note > We have a farm shop on-site where you can get snacks and meals to enjoy in your room or on the patio. You can also pre-order picnic baskets! > Please note Alderwood Farm is adult only accommodation—guests must be 12+ years old. > There are two farm dogs on the property who like to greet guests loudly with barks. They will run up to greet you, but they are not aggressive—only exuberant greeters. You should feel comfortable with dogs as you may see them during your stay. > Please don't feed any of the farm animals. > We are on a septic system and so it's important that you not put anything but human waste and toilet paper down the drains!
