La Petite Maison dans la Prairie (Nordic bath)
Description
Looking for a quiet break in the mountains? Enjoy this cosy little nest for 2 people, at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level on the Haut Jura mountain range, in the heart of the "Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura". Take a moment of relaxation all year round in the Nordic bath/jaccuzzi (€20 supplement). Breakfast basket in front of your door (supplement 9€/pers.). We look forward to welcoming you! The space The gîte is an outbuilding of our old Jura farmhouse, once a bread oven, completely renovated in 2020 and transformed into a small, comfortable, self-contained chalet. The gîte has 2 floors. On entering, you'll find a kitchen with a high table adapted to the space, as well as a sitting area with sofa and television. Upstairs is a delightful bedroom with a bathroom next doors. The south-facing terrace offers uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. Many walks are possible from the chalet... The wood-heated Nordic bath provides a moment of relaxation in the evening, when nothing else is moving in the valley... Pure relaxation! (extra charge of €20/bath for wood). Raclette and fondue machines are available, ideal for winter use. Other things to note Bellegarde-sur-Valserine TGV station is 15 minutes away by car. On your GPS, indicate "ferme de Menthières". The route will be more direct than with the address given on Airbnb, which will take you on an unnecessary diversions via Chézery-Forens. Unless you are arriving via the Valserine valley, take Confort then Menthières. When you reach the ski resort car park, continue for another 50 metres, take the cul-de-sac down to the left and you're there! Please note that there is no mini-market or grocery shop in our friendly little hamlet. Remember to take some provisions, bread etc... because the first shop is the grocery in the village of Confort, 8 km away.
