Description

Tucked away by a stream in a secluded garden Karven at Rowan Cottage is set deep in the Cornish countryside in Trethurgy, near St Austell. As well as peace and quiet, it has one very big USP – it’s only a five minute drive or half an hour walk from the fabulous Eden Project! A beautiful global garden where you can rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before. On our doorstep are the Clay Trails, a series of scenic routes great for exploring the local area. Yeghes da. The space Karven is a 28 ft x 10 ft static caravan which has been refurbished with new mattresses and flooring etc. It used to be our home so we are experts at bijou living; we had the best time in the caravan and I often still sit on the decking with a cup of tea! Don't worry I’ll remember not to when we have guests in. Our caravan is not listed as 5 star accommodation because it isn’t, but we have tried to make it as comfortable for your stay as we possibly can. Not all of the windows are double-glazed and with this being an older static we have provided a dehumidifier which you are welcome to run when the air is colder and wetter (this will help to remove moisture from the air inside). The log burner is for aesthetic purposes only, but should you fancy a fire we do have a couple of firepits which you could use on the grass not the decking (you would need to bring your own logs). Please note bedroom 2 is not suitable for adults, it ideally suits 2 young children as the mattresses are small singles. Due to narrow steps leading up to the caravan and some uneven ground unfortunately it isn’t suitable for anyone with mobility issues; space inside is limited to allow for a wheelchair or any mobility aids. Bedding and towels (not beach towels) are provided, although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Karven is dog friendly, ideally it suits 1 large dog or 2 small/medium sized dogs. Dog bowls are provided, but please bring your own doggie bedding, food and toys; we also welcome house cats. On occasions you may not have the same parking spot depending on how many campers are on-site, but we will make sure everyone has their own space. Outside of the camping season you will often have the whole place to yourselves. Guest access If there are no campers on-site you will have access to all the outside space for the duration of your stay. Your own area of garden including a small washing line is to the rear of the caravan. Other things to note We are perfectly located for the Eden Project parkrun which takes place every Saturday at 9.00 am; other parkruns nearby are Lanhydrock (6.1m) and Trelissick (15.9m). Knightor Winery is nestled amongst 4 acres of a working winery and orchards; Knightor is a wedding venue in Cornwall that exudes rustic charm. Should you be attending a wedding here we are within a short drive or walking distance away. We run a small pop up campsite for 28 days (3 pitches) for the Eden Sessions, the remaining days are allocated over the summer. Should you drive an electric vehicle we have a myenergi zappi EV charger on-site, charges apply @ 40p per kWh (we have a card machine and payment is appreciated on day of departure).
