Guest access ★ ACCESSING THE HOUSE ★ You will have complete access to the entire house. You will receive a code to access the home for an easy self-check-in and check-out process. When you unlock the door please wait to hear the door unlock before you try to open the door. Additionally, DO NOT LOCK the bottom door knob lock on all doors; use the keypad to lock and unlock the door. If you lock the bottom lock on your way out, you will NOT have access to get back into the house and will have to pay the locksmith fee of $300 to get back in the house. Other things to note Urban living at its best, we are within walking distance of the Anacostia Park, which connects the Anacostia River to the Navy Yard. If you are in the mood for bike riding, we have a scooter and bike station directly across from the house. Furthermore, next to the bike station, you will have direct access to Anacostia Park, where you can take a scenic bike ride along the boardwalk of Anacostia River, which has a large selection of skating parks, lounges, cafes, and restaurants. Only five blocks from the Historic Frederick Douglass House (National Park Site and Museum) and just one mile from Starbucks, Busboys & Poets, and Capital One Cafe. The community is a TRANSITIONAL neighborhood in Washington DC and is currently going through MAJOR REDEVELOPMENT. The neighborhood is reasonably safe, but just like any major city, be aware of your surroundings. If you do not feel safe in a transitional neighborhood, please do not book. Please read past guests' comments about their stay at the house to give you peace of mind about the listing. Additionally, the listing is equipped with an alarm system which is monitored 24/7 by the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department. There are door and window alarms at every entrance. Additionally, the house has three cameras that monitor every area of the outside of the house. ★ SECURITY CAMERAS AND ALARM SYSTEM ★ Please note that our listing is monitored by exterior security cameras for your safety and security. The house is equipped with an alarm system which is monitored 24/7 by the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department. There are door and window alarms at every entrance and has three cameras that monitor the outside of the home. For trust and safety reasons, please confirm your identity through Airbnb and add a profile picture of yourself before requesting the booking. . ★ PARKING★ Parking is free on the street with two spots on the parking area in front of the gate door that goes into the backyard ★ HEATING AND COOLING ★ Your heating /cooling is controlled by the upper level of the house or the second listing. Should the temperature become overly cold or warm, we offer supplementary space heaters and fans. Generally, the heating/cooling system is set to a minimum cooling temperature of 60 degrees and a maximum heating temperature of 80 degrees. ★ BATHROOM TOILET ★ This house is old, and utilizing multiple water sources at the same time may result in reduced water pressure. Kindly refrain from disposing excessive amount of toilet paper in the toilet, as this may lead to blockages. In the event of a toilet paper clog, please utilize the plunger for unclogging. Should the issue persist, we will arrange for a plumber to resolve the matter. If the plumber determines that the clog is solely due to toilet paper, no charges will be incurred. However, if the blockage is attributed to other sources (ie; feminine products, blobs of hair, toys, etc.), you will be responsible for covering the plumber's fees. ★ WATER PRESSURE ★ This house is old, utilizing multiple water sources at the same time may result in reduced water pressure. ★ COVID-19 SANITIZATION ★ Heath, safety, and well-being of our guests are of utmost importance. For this reason, we use a thorough cleaning process after each check-out.
