Room for the family and your pet all within walking distance to the City Centre and Laurel Bank Park. Mort Estate shops provide groceries and fresh bakery just around the corner. Please get in touch if your dates are not available - we may be able to help The space There are 3 comfortable bedrooms (the two main bedrooms have ceiling fans, the third has a pedestal fan), a central living room (with air conditioning) and a large separate kitchen with dining nook that catches the morning sun. Polished wood floors make it even more servicable. It’s not pretentious, but just great down to earth accomodation providing you with a warm welcome to Toowoomba. In winter, a gas heater in the living room keeps everyone toasty. Pets are welcome on a case by case basis and guests should note that as a pet friendly stay the odd pet hair does escape the cleaner! Be prepared for a clean, warm lived in vibe not a soulless hotel. “The Cottage” is located in a historic Camphor Laurel street in the "Mort Estate". Enjoy the sound of a fresh breeze in the laurel leaves with your morning coffee. Across the road No. 9 (Tawa) has been reported as being the oldest home still standing in Toowoomba, built circa 1860's and the “Mort Estate” historic walk strolls past the front door. Guest access There is parking on the premises and on the street in front of the dwelling. The city centre and all it has to offer is within walking distance. The Mort Estate shops are a convenient 3 minute walk around the corner with a bakery, grocer, fish and chip shop, pharmacy and laundromat available. Betros Brothers for unique grocery and fine foods and Ortem for a gorgeous lunch are a 10 min walk down tree lined Campbell street. Other things to note This house is a 1930s character cottage in an historic part of Toowoomba. I live here on a part time basis which makes it as ethical as they come! It is best suited to guests who enjoy a lived in, clean, pet friendly, character house in the wood and tin style of Queensland. The odd escaped pet hair, dust and floorboard gap (only in the closed in veranda areas) are par for the course and part of the features of this 1930s house. Our cleaners and myself work very hard to ensure these are minimised but they are innate in these buildings and loved by our guests. If you require a more contemporary hotel style experience this house is likely not suit your needs.
