Natural Beauty on Drury Pond - Snowmobile Paradise
The Temple Camp is a comfortable bungalow nestled in the pines on the shore of Drury Pond. The water-facing side of camp is a wall of European-style windows, creating seamless connection between inside and outside. The camp’s large deck overlooks the path downhill to the water. With only a few cabins on Drury, wildlife like moose, beaver and loons are frequent visitors. The Temple Camp was featured on DIY Network’s Maine Cabin Masters – season 3, episode 6 “The Honeymoon Suite.” Set up a slope from the pond, the path to the water switchbacks down about 100’ to the dock (and gets the heart pumping on the way back up). Drury Pond is small and picturesque, framed by foothills. A short canoe ride reveals an interesting glimpse into the impact of beaver activity on the pond. There are many ATV trails along Day Mountain Road and nearby. Savage Mountain can be accessed by trails via foot or ATV/snowmobile about 3 miles up the road from camp. In spite of being just about 10 miles from downtown Farmington, the region feels like an adventure off the beaten path. The nearby town of Farmington has grocery stores, Wal-Mart, a movie theater (which has switched to drive-in during the pandemic), many local shops, restaurants and services. It is the home to the University of Maine at Farmington, and is considered the gateway to outdoor adventure regions of Rangeley and Carrabassett Valley. Drury Pond offers beautiful fall foliage, followed by great ice fishing in winter months. There are numerous snowmobile trails nearby. We are about 60 minutes from Sugarloaf and Saddleback Mountains and just minutes from Titcomb Mountain. Host lives in local area, will be available during stay by phone and text as needed. The nearest big town is Farmington, ME which has a supermarket, pharmacy, Walmart, restaurants, shops and a cinema. Parking on site. You will definitely need.a vehicle. There is an amazing network of ATV trails. Feel free to bring your ATVs. The camp’s water comes from a well. While it is technically drinkable, it has a higher iron content and a metallic smell. You should plan to bring some drinking water with you. But no worries about using it for brushing teeth, etc.
