Quiet retreat in the country.
After a relaxed day in the wine country, retreat to our knoll and enjoy birdsong and calm. Watch the sunset over the Coast Range or stay up to enjoy the glorious stars. If it's cool, come sit by the fire and enjoy a beverage, work on a puzzle, listen to music, or read a book from our extensive collection. I'm a textile artist and can be found in my upstairs studio, Bill is usually reading somewhere. If you want to chat or get information about local highlights, we are available. If you desire quiet there's plenty of privacy, a lovely front garden, and a backyard that looks out to forever. Your room and bathroom are down a private hall with an exterior door. We usually stop working at about four and gather in the living room to watch the sunset with a beverage and cheese plate and you are welcome to join us. You are welcome in our home. The only room that is private is our bedroom area. There are coffee/tea provisions in your room, but you are welcome to make coffee/tea in the kitchen. The stove/fridge are available to you; if you would like to make anything extensive give me a little heads up. Happy to help in any way we can. Feel free to text me. Town (Dallas, Oregon) is 15 minutes away. Vineyards about 30 minutes, depending on which ones, of course. The coast is an hour west, Portland 1.5 hours north, and scattered vineyards all the way up 99W. Some excellent, award-winning restaurants and vineyards and most with a relaxed PNW vibe. Some of the restaurants require reservations, and we are happy to help with that. Some lovely wildlife sanctuaries, bike trails, and hikes in the area. You will need a car. Parking is easily available everywhere. Some things to know: our home is remote (thus the quiet and peace). Since it's not a place to dash out for breakfast I provide a light breakfast of muffins, yogurt, and fruit. Town (Dallas, Oregon) is 15 minutes away.
