Description

The Milking Shed is a cosy cabin in the lush green hills and beautiful vistas of the Hawkesbury region north-west of Sydney. The cabin is built on the side of a hill and looks directly into a small forest of eucalypts - perfect for trying to spot one of our regular koala visitors. It is 200m past the main house on the property, and completely private. Curl up with a book, feed a donkey, pour a wine, cuddle a corgi, or sit on the deck take in the country. It is a million miles from care. The space The Milking Shed is an annex to our stables. It is built around a large tree stump and has a lovely view of the valley below. You may have a little donkey poke his nose over the front porch for a pat or a carrot. Kangaroos are at the back door, and we often have koalas in the trees. The cheerful toll of the bellbirds that our area is famous for can be heard across the valley. As the cabin is quite rustic it is unfortunately not at all suitable for small children, babies or pets. We are only a few kms from the cute bustling township of Kurrajong. It has everything you need and a few cute homewares, clothing and gift shops. 10-15 mins away are the Bilpin and Hillbilly Cider Houses as well as the various pick your own fruit and/or flower farms. A short drive away are the historic townships of Windsor and Richmond. We are 25 minutes drive from the beautiful Blue Mountains Royal Botanical Gardens at Mt Tomah. There are plenty of games, books, puzzles or drawing/painting to do if you prefer to just stay in the cabin. The TV has Netflix and other streaming services, and the wifi is excellent. Guest access Turn off Hermitage Rd and drive along the private driveway we share with our neighbours. At the end of the driveway a black automatic gate will let you in to our property and our three very noisy dogs. The cabin is 200m further on from the main house. You are welcome to park in the shelter next to it. More detailed instructions will be sent to you the day before your arrival. Other things to note The Milking Shed just has a kitchenette. There is a small fridge, microwave, toaster, and sink as well as coffee and tea facilities, honey from our own bees, plates bowls cups etc. The cabin is not equipped for more sophisticated cooking, and we encourage you to try any of the local areas wonderful places to eat. Message Steph for suggestions! There is no smoking anywhere on the property. We are in a very natural setting. There are often koalas in the trees and kangaroos or long-nosed bandicoots in the fields outside. There are other animals around such as dogs, donkeys, chickens and ducks, most of whom love a pat. Carrots are provided for the donks. The Shed is definitely not for people who might be uncomfortable around animals. Registration Details PID-STRA-50783
