This family retreat was built in 1949 as a resting place, a place to recharge, to gather in the comfort of yourself, family and friends. 5 generations have protected this purpose, and it is unwavering. It is a sacred place to all who know the roost these past 75 years. We share it with you so that you may also benefit from her healing walls. Roddy’s Roost is a cabin steps from beautiful Lake Catherine. The cabin itself is cozy & rustic with 3-bedrooms & 2 full bathrooms, that sleeps 8 comfortably. The outdoor space has a screened in porch with rockers and seating for everyone. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee or evening dinner while watching the sunset. The master suite area has an additional deck with a patio table, 4 chairs, and seating along all sides as well as a charcoal grill. The outdoor steps take you down to a firepit surrounded by comfortable seating and bistro lighting, that makes the perfect outdoor ambiance. The path along the back yard leads you steps away from the lake. Here you will find a covered boat dock, where you can boat, fish, swim, or kayak. (The kayaks are provided) Roddy’s Roost is the perfect place to get out of the city and disconnect in nature or to use as your base for all your adventures. It’s a quick 15 min drive to all the attractions Hot Springs has to offer. The entire cabin is setup for guest use. Roddy's Roost is located on a quiet hilly road with no thru traffic surrounded by woods with only one close neighbor. We have an easy access to Lake Catherine with a dock and boat slip. We have a private circle drive for parking. It is a narrow slightly steep driveway with a tight curve which can be navigated easily by standard sized cars and trucks. It is not a driveway easily navigated if you are towing a trailer.
