We provide plenty of bedding, towels, shower essentials, and all the kitchen amenities— complimentary dark-roast organic coffee to use in the drip coffee maker, tea, pantry supplies, snacks, and more— to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our home is available for short getaways or longer stays, and is the perfect location when visiting NAU campus or downtown Flagstaff. It’s also a convenient launching point to the mountains, just a little over 20 minutes drive from the house to the chair lift at AZ Snowbowl ski resort, or just 14 minutes to the Basecamp parking lot where you can hop on a shuttle in winter to take you up the switchbacks (chains required in snow). Endless trails are located within walking distance or a short drive from the house, too. We provide hiking maps and books at the house for outdoor enthusiasts. There is plenty to see and do right in Flagstaff, but if you're looking for adventure, the Grand Canyon is just a little over an hour away, and the beautiful red rocks of Sedona less than an hour. Oak Creek Canyon is only 30 minutes away, a scenic creek with lots of spots to explore. As Flagstaff locals, we know all the insider places to visit, explore, hike, dine, and shop, which we provide in our guidebook— and are always available for other recommendations or questions during your stay! Absolutely no smoking of any kind allowed in the house or on the property. Enjoy your private hot tub, available 24 hours a day, year-round. We ask guests to treat the hot tub kindly and use with care. Always supervise children around the hot tub and use at your own risk. Please rinse off before use. Please note that any excessive dirt may result in additional cleaning needed for the hot tub and may incur in an extra charge. More detailed instructions for hot tub use are provided upon booking and in our house manual. Note that because our house is located in a prime location as close as you can get to NAU campus in an urban area, there will be students in the area. Expect a lively energy to the neighborhood at times and potential for occasional noise certain times of the year. The house stays comfortable in winter due to an efficient heating system, with space heaters available in the bedrooms upstairs for extra comfort. The house stays naturally pretty cool during summer due to the nature of the rock walls. Flagstaff temperatures are usually mild in summer. There is no A/C in the house, but ceiling fans and portable fans are provided if needed. Crib: if you are staying with an infant, there is a pack and play and sheet available in the upstairs twin bedroom closet. Baby gates are provided to keep a young one safe in a room but please note that they will not fully cover the stairs, so please use caution if you are staying here with young children and watch them around the stairs. Toys, games, and books are available at the house for children and adults alike to enjoy! Please use caution on the stairs and walkways. There are several steep steps to access both the front and back door, and it being an historic house there are some cracks in the walkways and patios as well as uneven pavement around the property. Snow and/or ice may be present in the winter months — please watch your step! Please note that we are not responsible for any items left behind. There may be an additional $50 fee plus shipping if found items are sent back to guests to cover our housekeeper's time. Thanks for reading through all the details! We look forward to hosting your next trip. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, and enjoy your stay!!
