Holly House - a remote, rustic cabin by the river

Welcome to the Holly House, a remote getaway for anyone seeking relaxation or adventure! This rustic, cozy home nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains will appeal to anyone seeking the beauty and tranquility of western NC. We invite you to sit in a rocking chair and sip a cup of coffee while enjoying a panoramic view of the trees, kickback in the hammock by the fire pit, take a walk around the property or grab an inflatable tube or your fishing rod and hit the Little Tennessee River! The space Our home is within 25-30 minutes of Bryson City and the Nantahala Gorge. Check out the local shops, restaurants and breweries, or plan for some local activities including a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, ziplining, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, trout fishing, swimming in Lake Fontana and more. The home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, charcoal grill, a flat screen (no cable) TV and DVD player, and a large wraparound covered porch. Our quaint and secluded Holly House is over 30 years old and is very special to us. It has become our ongoing rescue project. We hope you’ll find it a place to disconnect from your day to day and reconnect with the things you need to feel rejuvenated--a walk in the woods, a book, a day on the water or time with friends and family. IMPORTANT NOTE: When booking, please keep in mind that we are in the mountains. We are nearly 1 mile from the paved road and our house is perched on a mountainside--with that comes a steep, gravel driveway. Before booking, please see our last few photos for a quick look at the steepest parts of the drive. Guest access PARKING: There is enough room for 3 vehicles to comfortably park and turn around at the top of the drive. • Firewood - We do provide split fire wood for our guests. • Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid if you plan to use the grill • Flashlight is provided but we recommend having your own if walking between the fire pit and house at night. • Linens, towels, soap, shampoo, coffee , tea, and most essentials are provided. • Please bring extra towels if you plan to go out to the lake, river, or waterfalls, or if you have a longer stay. Other things to note The drive leading up to the house has surveillance cameras for security purposes. WiFi is available but it can be degraded during inclement weather. We provide a home phone for guest use in case of an emergency.
