The Coach House at The Grange

Only 5 mins drive from Grateley train station and 10 mins off the A303, The Coach House is a convenient place to stay in Hampshire. Its not too far from Andover, Stockbridge, Thruxton, Stonehenge and Salisbury. The Coach House is set back away from the road and is a detached converted two storey house set in the grounds of The Grange with its own fenced front garden. Grateley has a pub (2 mins walk), The Plough, with delicious Nepalese curry. There are lovely country walks from the village. The space The Coach House has a good sized sitting room with two sofas and coffee table where you can relax and watch TV. Also, there's a desk should you need to do some work or study. There is a separate kitchen and dining space with oven, hob, kettle, toaster, cafetière, nespresso coffee machine (bring capsules) and frother, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The dining space can seat four people. Downstairs is a WC with a washing machine. There is a drying rack and also an iron and ironing board available for your use. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: -- Bedroom One: Zip & Link single beds and therefore can be set up as a Super-King or Twin beds (see photos for options) - please let us know what you wish. There are bedside tables, a chest of drawers and cupboard with hanging space. -- Bedroom Two: Double bed, chest of drawers, TV, bedside tables. Upstairs there is a small bathroom with sink, loo, bath (with overhead shower). The shower has recently (in Spring 2025) been redone and is under a sloped roof so it can be a bit awkward if you’re very tall. There is an airing cupboard. Outside there is a small garden with grass and patio area. There is a Weber charcoal BBQ for use (please bring your charcoal). The small garden has a new fence and gate at the front so your pet can stay close and be enclosed (but they must not be left unattended please). You can park ONE car outside the Coach House (a second car by pre-arrangement please and no further cars). Guest access Please note that The Coach House is detached but in the grounds of our house, The Grange. There is a small garden to the front of The Coach House for you to use exclusively. The Coach House garden has been recently fenced off at the front with a gate so your pet stay in its area (and for our dog to keep out!), but we ask that you kindly don't leave your pet unattended. Other things to note Grateley train station is very conveniently located, just 1 mile away but it can mean that train noise is heard from the house - it doesn't bother us but it may for those sensitive to noise! The Coach House is located next to (but separate from) our family house - we leave you in peace, but it makes it an unsuitable booking for hens/stags/loud stays. For use of the BBQ please bring charcoal. For use of the Nespresso coffee machine please bring capsules. If you would like us to put you in touch with a cook who can have you ready some traditional home cooked food, please let us know. Otherwise, there is a “Cook” selection of frozen meals at the nearby Budgens (c7 minute drive) or the Gurkha pub in the village that does delicious curry takeaways.
