FAQ: • Question: It’s my partners birthday / it’s our anniversary, can you provide decorations? Answer: Yes of course, we’re happy to provide complimentary decorations for your special occasion at no extra cost. We can pick up fresh flowers 🌺 in the morning for you or provide a special birthday/anniversary balloon and banner for you. If you have something else in mind just let us know and we’d be more than happy to help. • Question: Can I check-in early? Answer: Normal check-in is at 16:00 and check-out at 11:00, however the place is often ready earlier and we can provide an earlier check-in or later check-out at no extra charge on special request. So please do feel free to message us. Even if we are not are not able to provide a check-in as early as you might like, you are still more than welcome to turn up earlier and explore the area. If you are on foot you can drop off your bags in our locked storage room. There is also lovely forest 🌳 in front of the property that you can take circular walk through and end up at “The Star” pub to have a spot of lunch before check-in, which is just a short walk away. Then as soon as the place is ready you can make your way over. • Question: How do I check-in and where do I collect the keys from? Answer: Most guests prefer to check-in privately at their own convenience and leisure. We will provide check-in details on the morning of your stay including all of the codes needs during your stay. At this property there is no key required, as the front door handle has keyless entry. The code for this will be sent along with the check-in details in the morning. • Question: Can I send something to you in advance to place in the property? Answer: Yes of course, you’re more than welcome to send gifts or parcel to us in advance of your stay, to surprise your co-guest. We also, have a secret compartment in this property that magically swings open when you enter the code, which you could use to add some theatre to your gift reveal once you arrive. Feel free to message us for the address to send to and any special requests you might have. • Question: I want to propose to my partner, can I arrive in advance to set up? Answer: If no-one has checked-in the night before your stay, you’re more than welcome to come down and set up in advance of your visit later on that day, or send your trusted friends / family to do this for you. We will however need to let you know on the morning of your stay if this is possible, as we often get last minute same day booking even up until midnight. Alternatively, you can send us anything you would like to have set up in advance and we can prepare the place for you. However, please do message us in advance to confirm that we are able to fulfil your request before making your booking. • Question: Is the stay private? Answer: The property itself is on a working farm and there is a the farm house about 80-100meters away from the hut. And we also have another hut next to it in the same field. There is screening between the two and all the way around the sides and back, so once you’re inside the hut it’s nice and private. And there are also blinds on every window and door if you want complete privacy, and also darkness if you want to have a lay-in in the morning. • Question: Where can we buy food nearby? Answer: There is an M&S foodhall right near to the entrance of the farm which is just a short walk away from the property. Alternatively, there is a Tesco superstore, just a 7 minute drive away. • Question: Where can we eat out? Answer: - There are 2 lovely pubs within walking distance of the property. The Shy Horse is very close to the entrance of the farm. And The Star is a little further, but the food is much nicer in our opinion. - If you’d like a restaurant. There is Hideaway in Surbiton which is a great place to have a spot of lunch/dinner next to the river Thames. - Or there is Cento Uno, also in Surbiton, which is a brilliant Italian pasta and pizza place. - If you’d like something a little more up market there is the French Table, which is also next to Cento Uno, so you can easily walk from one to the other and take your pick. • Question: Can we order take out food? Answer: Yes, both Deliveroo and Uber Eats deliver to the farm and so you have a wide range of food options available. Our favourite take away is Cappadocia in Epsom, for deliciously authentic Turkish mezes and grilled meats. • Question: Is there a local taxi service we can use? Answer: Both, Uber and Bolt will pick up and drop off at the farm. However, if you would like a local service you can use Clocktower Cars, Epsom. • Question: What is there to do nearby? Answer: - There is Boxhill, which is the highest point nearby which you could take a walk up and see the whole of Surrey from the top. - You also have the 500 acre forest directly in front of the hut which you could explore on a circular walk and end up at the star pub nearby for a spot of lunch. - There’s Chessington World of Adventures, the theme park just walking distance away which has rides and also a zoo. - There are also several equestrian clubs nearby that offer hacking and 30/60minute lesson for beginners/intermediates. Feel free to message for more details. - If you are not from London, then we are only about 15 minutes drive from the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace; of which you can take a boat taxi from there all the way to Westminster if you wanted to go into London. - If you wanted to stay one evening in London then Top Secret comedy club is an incredible place to go for the night. - Epsom Racecourses, is also nearby and a beautiful place to explore, there is some great scenery, pubs and walks around it. - You could also visit Dorking, which is an old market town nearby, the town itself has lots of characterful listed properties and also a National Trust property nearby called Polsden Lacey. - If you’re into your wine then Denbies Wine Estate is just a short drive away and produces some of the best tasting sparkling wines in Europe. They offer tours and wine tasting throughout the year. - Here are just a few options for you. If you have something more specific in mind the please do send us a message and we’d be more than happy to help. However, most guests often opt to for a more relaxed time in nature, taking short walks to local pubs, having a glass of wine and chilling out in the hot tub watching nature go by and the stars sparkle overhead. • Question: I have a very young baby, do you have a cot? Answer: Yes of course, just let us know in advance and we can provide a moses basket / small cot for you. • Question: Can I bring my dog? Answer: Yes, you’re more than welcome to bring your pup 🐶, we are dog friendly which is one huge benefit of staying in nature. Simply add your pet to the guest list (small surcharge of £25) • Question: If I bring my dog is the area fenced off? Answer: The field that the hut is in, is enclosed by a gate, there is no fence around the perimeter of the field and it is a working farm so your pup 🐶 would need to be on a lead walking through the farm, as there are tractors that drive around occasionally and a couple of domestic farm cats. However, there is a lovely 500 acre forest 🌳 in front of the property, which is just a short walk away where you pup is welcome to roam free. • Question: Can you do a better price for 2+ days? Answer: Yes, we offer last minute bookings if the date is available you’re welcome to book and we are ready to accommodate you. • Question: Is there an oven, microwave, pots, pans and cooking utensils? Answer: In this property there is a 2 ring electric hob, a fridge and a full set of pots, pans, kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery. We also provide salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar for seasoning and salad. There is also a Nespresso coffee maker with coffee pods included. • Question: Is there somewhere to park for free on-site? Answer: Yes of course, there is free parking throughout your stay on the hard standing concrete right next to the field that the property is in. • Question: I’m coming from London how can I get to you public transport / taxi? Answer: The farm is around 30-40 minutes by Uber from West London. And the nearest station is Chessington South which is 36 minutes direct from London Waterloo and a 7 minute taxi to the farm or a 20 minute bus. • Question: Is there WiFi at the property good enough for video calls or streaming Netflix? Answer: Yes of course, we have free WiFi at our properties and the signal is strong enough for both video calls and streaming movies online. Guest access Guest have access to all areas of the large triangular field outlined by trees and to the paths in and out of the farm including into Ashtead Common. This is a working farm, so it is advised not to walk on the crop fields as this may damage harvest produce and there are tractors and harvesters that operate in these areas throughout the year. Otherwise, the farm is a very friendly and interesting place to be especially during harvest and is surrounded by woodland and wildlife.
