Pooh's Hideout is a woods cabin nestled in a park-like setting. Insulated with heat or AC. You'll find a full-size futon bed with convenient storage below. The shared full bathroom with a shower is located just 50 yards away in the barn. Relax in your cabin or unwind in the shared open-air pavilion. Stroll our walking paths, gather around a firepit, or enjoy a meal fresh from the gas grill. A peaceful woodland escape with storybook charm—perfect for nature lovers seeking rest and relaxation. The space Escape to Nature in Pooh's Hideout, one of two small cabins, at Friedenswald! You'll have fresh coffee beans with a grinder and a French press for you morning brew. We are proud of our coffee that is mold free, specialty grade, and small batch roasted. The best part is that it impacts survivors of trafficking! Bedding and towels are provided for your convenience. Wander peaceful woodland trails, relax by the pond front dock, or unwind on a bench beneath a charming, covered bridge. The pond is primarily for aesthetics and wildlife and only 3 feet deep. If your thing is dangling your feet in or even jumping in, it's yours to enjoy! At your own risk, of course. Enjoy cozy evenings around one of our fire pits, or fire up the gas grill for a cookout under the stars. Book lovers will love the unique Silo Library—grab a book, sink into a comfy recliner, and let yourself get lost in a great read. Feel free to borrow a book and enjoy it back at your cabin. For added convenience, we offer an on-site laundry room to keep you fresh during your stay. Need anything? We’re happy to help—just ask! Guest access During your stay at Pooh’s Hideout, you’ll have access to several inviting shared spaces designed for relaxation and connection. Lower Barn Entrance – Includes a full bathroom, a laundry room for your convenience, and our unique Silo Library, where you can cozy up with a book or borrow one to enjoy back at your cabin. Outside your cabin you can enjoy the pavilion & picnic area with an outside kitchen. – A perfect spot for outdoor dining and gathering. Use the gas grill or cook over an open fire at one of our fire pits. You'll have fresh coffee beans with a grinder and a French press for your morning brew inside your cabin. Towels (in the bathroom) and bedding are provided for your convenience. These spaces are shared, so please be considerate of others. Many guests love meeting fellow travelers here! Woodland Trails – Explore the scenic trails that wind through the property, offering peaceful nature walks and quiet spots to unwind. If you have any questions or need anything during your stay, just ask—we're happy to help! Other things to note We are 10 miles North of Merrill. Depending on your plans you may want to get any groceries you'll need on your way in. We have a new cell phone tower nearby and you may still want to load your GPS map ahead of time. Here in the Northwoods coverage can be spotty. We do have a booster at our place or you can connect with wi-fi calling with our Starlink.
