The space We are in the San Polo district, one of the most central and culturally rich neighbourhoods of Venice, but still blissfully non-touristy The apartment is located on the top floor of a sixteenth-century palace on the Grand Canal: Ca' Marcello de Leoni. The palace takes its name from the presence on the sides of the portal of two medieval high reliefs (13th century) in Istrian stone, perhaps from the ancient church of San Tomà, depicting two Romanesque lions, one of which , the one on the right, holds in its claws a kind of small eel-like dragon. At the base of the building, on the Grand Canal, there are gondolas: the Traghetto (ferry) to San Marco. The flat does not have views on the Canal but does have stunning ones on Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Friari. The space you will find upon your arrival is a gorgeous 75mq apartment completely refurbished: generous height ceilings (3.8m), beautiful seventeenth-century chestnut beams, brick walls that in some points reveal the curious reuse of bricks from the Roman era, and a stunning oak parquet throughout the entire apartment. The property is designed by an architect and includes many bespoke pieces such as a black kitchen with a lava stone top, a pink onyx table, a cylindrical sink carved out of a single block of walnut travertine and a large shower with fluted glass and it is furnished with contemporary, vintage, as well as antique design pieces and contains carefully chosen art works. The layout includes an entrance, a large living area with open plan kitchen, a very generous bedroom with a four-poster double bed and a studio-space, a chic bathroom and a small storage space. The flat is flooded with natural light and it is equipped with heating system, A/C and all kitchen’s appliances (hobs, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine). As the flat containes some delicate furnitures and fragile pieces of art, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Registration Details IT027042B4XHISFFXH
