Louis Philippe on Roath Park

Description

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene room with its elegant furniture and peaceful vibe. The centre piece of the room is the beautiful French Louis Philippe sleigh bed with its wonderful pocket spring mattress. It will be dressed in professionally cleaned and ironed linen topped with a luscious duvet chosen to suit the season. This is the perfect space to enjoy a cold glass of bubbly while considering your dinner options in one of the many great restaurants a short walk away. The space Your bedroom is reached from the front hallway by an elegant Victorian stairway. Your room is on the third level, 30 steps from the ground floor. Along the way you pass walls decorated with dozens of original artworks by artists of local and international note. You will discover this room faces the back garden and greets the rising sun. The only outside sounds you will hear will be the birds in the trees when the double glazed windows are open. When they are closed, it is as quiet as the grave. Normally the room is set up in the Double bed configuration you see in the photos, but on occasions where our guests wish to sleep apart we will add a comfortable single bed. (See this second bed in one of the photos) We provide refreshments that are replenished daily including various 100% arabica by coffee and tea blends, fresh chilled milk and filtered iced water. You will also find a few tasty treats you did not expect! If you are staying for three or more nights and you tell us it’s a very special occasion for you, don’t be surprised to find a bubbly treat awaiting your serious attention on arrival. If you are here on business or you just like downloading old episodes of Downton Abbey to your laptop you’ll discover our WiFi is quick with an Airbnb verified rating of over 300 mbps download in this room and 150 mbps + in the common areas. Usually it is way more than this. BATHROOM & LOOS The guest’s bathroom is in the hallway by your bedroom door. It’s kept immaculately clean and is sanitised and deodorised thoroughly between and during guest stays by cleaners who take pride in all they do. If you like your showers to invigorate as well as clean then you will be impressed by the power shower. The guest bathroom includes a toilet, but you will also find two further private guest toilets with basins on lower levels. These are shown in the photos. LOUNGE Guests are invited to use the guest lounge on the first floor. It includes comfortable leather sofas and a glorious old London pub piano with a rather notorious past awaiting your attention. Don’t forget to ask us what makes our piano infamous. It will surprise you and please give it try. The large screen TV is also at your disposal as are the hundreds of video and compact discs for entertainment. KITCHEN If you love cooking like us and have the time, why not create a meal for you and your guests in our Victorian kitchen. Every conceivable piece of apparatus awaits your command. We will supply the basics like oil, S&P, herbs & spices, you just need to bring your ingredients. Please use the dining room to entertain your guests and take meals. OUR CLEANING SYSTEM For you information and peace of mind we follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. Here are a few highlights: We sanitise high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknobs We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and we wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination We refer to cleaning checklists to thoroughly clean each room We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay. We want you to feel at home when you stay with us. OUR OTHER ROOMS We have two other rooms in our home , The Grand Victorian and the Peaceful Retreat should you have friends also looking for a place to stay or if you wish to see our other options for a later stay. Guest access All public rooms including the guests’ lounge room, hallways, guest bathroom, two further separate toilets, dining room, kitchen and the rear garden between May and September are open to you. During your stay We live here and are always on hand to offer you local advice on places to eat, shows to see and castles to visit. We also know this might be a flying visit and all you need is the key and directions to your room so we let you choose how much interaction you want when we first meet. Other things to note WEEKLY CLEANING FEE A cleaning fee is included in your booking fee for the FIRST week of your stay with us. Thereafter, a further fee is charged for each full week or part there off. This will be collected directly from you. It covers a complete room refresh, including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, newly washed and ironed linen, dressing gowns, slippers, daily replenishment of the amenity tray, and the use of the kitchen facilities. The fee is £22pw. CATS We have two refugee tuxedo cats that sought asylum with us. Unlike their two legged counterparts, none arrived in an inflatable boat wearing a life preserver or carrying a pedigree passport, but like their two legged counterparts we have taken on the responsibility for their sustenance, accommodation and endless medical care. They usually hide in their secret places away from guests but they may occasionally be seen lounging like an entitled lord and lady on lower level stairs and in hallways. To their credit, each is always immaculately clean, well groomed and fragrant. We vacuum the heck out of the house daily to collect any stray hairs they may shed but SHOULD YOU BE ALLERGIC TO CATS, and a few discretely placed spotless litter boxes, you may wish to consider choosing another place to stay. If you are indifferent to these little fur balls, they will be totally indifferent to you. Show the slightest affection however, and you will be welcomed with purrs and leg rubs. specially if you have brought Dreamies. No guest has previously been attacked or mauled by these wild animals. HOUSE RULES We only have a few house rules because we want you to feel right at home. Make sure your Airbnb profile includes your full name, your photograph shows your face for ID purposes and we have the full names of all in your party before arrival. We ask that you do not smoke inside our home, you do not take food to the bedrooms and you leave your shoes down stairs as you come in. If you return home late, please show respect to others who may be asleep and keep noise to a minimum. If you cook in the kitchen, please clean the cooker, microwave and air fryer using the cleaners found under the sink. We request that you rinse your dirty dishes and pop them in the dish washer. When you shower, please limit your shower to less than 7 minutes because long showers can rapidly empty the big tank and others may need to shower too. After showering do squeegee down the shower so the next person receives it as sparkling as you. Thanks for your consideration.
