Loch Insh Centre offers year-round activities & its Boathouse Restaurant can be accessed on foot whilst The Suie our local pub has a warm & welcoming atmosphere. The space February Cottage is the perfect year-round retreat for guests seeking relaxation, adventure, and a true Scottish Highland escape. Set in the foothills of the magnificent Cairngorm Mountain Range, the charming village of Kincraig is surrounded by some of Scotland’s most breathtaking scenery, with woodland walks, lochs, and outdoor activities right on the doorstep. Just a 12-minute drive away lies Aviemore, widely known as the outdoor capital of the Highlands and a lively hub for adventure, dining, and outdoor pursuits. Our much-loved family cottage was recently modernised with an eco-friendly heating system combining a heat pump, solar panels, and battery storage which provides clean, green energy and ensures the cottage stays wonderfully warm and efficient throughout the year. Whatever the Scottish weather has planned, February Cottage remains cosy, comfortable, and welcoming. Surrounded by greenery, the cottage truly feels like a home from home. Inside, you’ll find an open-plan, well-equipped kitchen and a cosy living area complete with a log-burning stove perfect for evenings cooried up on the sofa with a movie and your favourite tipple. The bright and spacious sunroom features a large dining table, ideal for relaxed meals together. A vintage seating area offers the perfect spot for morning coffee while watching the red squirrels and wide variety of birds that frequent the mature trees and flowering shrubs in the garden. Guests enjoy full, private access to the detached cottage and its enclosed garden. Outside you’ll find a comfortable bamboo seating snug, a large rustic picnic bench, a fire pit and a BBQ perfect for al fresco dining, toasting marshmallows, and enjoying peaceful evenings under the stars ✨ February Cottage offers a safe and secure environment for families, with no nearby roads or traffic allowing you to truly unwind while children play freely in the garden, waving to the occasional passing train & keeping a lookout for the famous Royal Scotsman or the Red Squirrels 🐿️ in the trees. A timber shed is available for bike storage, with sledges provided for snowy days ⛄️ and garden games ready for sunny ones ☀️. Sleeping arrangements: • Upstairs master bedroom with a super-king bed and en-suite shower room. The skylight offers beautiful views towards Creag Mhigeachaidh (“the Sleeping Mountain”) in the Cairngorms. • Downstairs twin bedroom with two single beds is ideal for children, complete with books and a toy box is also available. • Ground-floor double bedroom just off the sunroom, bright and cosy with garden views. • A modern ground-floor wet room serves the twin and double bedrooms for added convenience. All beds feature new pocket-sprung, memory-foam mattresses to ensure a restful and comfortable night’s sleep. The area is easily accessible by air, rail, or road, located just off the A9 carriageway. The village of Kincraig sits directly on the Speyside Way, making it an ideal stop for guests arriving by bike or on foot. Kincraig benefits from a regular bus service to Aviemore and Kingussie, both offering direct rail and bus connections to Inverness, Edinburgh, Stirling, Glasgow, and south to London. A particularly memorable travel option is the Caledonian Sleeper allowing you to fall asleep in London and wake up refreshed in the Highlands. The Highland railway line runs adjacent to the cottage, with approximately ten trains passing daily in both directions.
