Cockleshell Cottage sits within a stone's throw of the famous 800 year old walls of Conwy and a short walk from the incredible castle and delightful walled town. Although known principally for its World Heritage listed castle and historic houses such as the Elizabethan Plas Mawr, Conwy has a thriving restaurant scene and some very fine pubs. You're spolit for choice but try the Jackdaw for a special evening (but book well in advance) or Johnny Dough's for the best pizza in the area. Guest access The town is also well furnished with excellent independent shops and delis as well as interesting art galleries such as The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art. Park the car at the cottage and you can easily forget about for a week, leaving the incredible coastline and hinterland of Eryri (Snowdonia) for a second visit! Inside the cottage is an oasis of calm; everything is well-thought out and personally selected, from curated statement pieces to not-so-obvious features such as the Millbrook mattress in the lovely main bedroom. The main living area is light and bright thanks to plenty of windows and french windows with the traditional stone inglenook and wooden dining table contrasting beautifully with the modern kitchen at the other end. Doors lead outside to a tiny but cute courtyard, a perfect spot for a pre-dinner G&T on a warm evening before heading down to Conwy. An unexpected bonus is the upstairs balcony off the bunk room which has views over the Castle Walls as well as distant views of Conwy Bay. There is also a communal garden area for residents of the terrace.
