Welcome to our circa 1868 Rock Schoolhouse, a one room schoolhouse nestled in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, located 26 miles south of Prairie du Chien, WI and 43 miles north of Dubuque, IA. The Rock Schoolhouse offers beauty, history, and the old time schoolhouse touches along with the comforts and modern conveniences of today's world, including a 75' Roku TV, WiFi, 1-1/2 baths, stone kitchen countertops, a queen-size bed and two pull out couches to sleep additional guests. Other things to note Points of Interest: *Wylusing and Nelson Dewey State Parks about 15 minutes away. Parks offer hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking and more. See beautiful views of where the Wisconsin river meets the Mississippi River. *Tubing on the Grant river. Y’All Bee Tubing located in Beetown/Cassville (approximately 20 mins away) *Catch the river ferry in Cassville crossing the Mississippi River to historic Gutenberg-quaint town with shops and restaurants. From Gutenberg, Field of Dreams is another 1/2 hour away. *Travel to Prairie du Chien where the historic Villa Louis is located - mansion and home to first millionaire in Wisconsin. 20 minutes away you will find Pike’s Peak state park in Marquette, Iowa. Views from atop the bluffs display beautiful views of where the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers come together. *Boat launch two blocks away from the schoolhouse, for a small fee. Restaurants: Andy’s Up The Street Restaurant/Bar- Less than a 5 minute walk from the schoolhouse. Great food!! (Check for hours) Ma’s Bakery in Bloomington - for an old fashioned breakfast and lunch. Reasonable prices The Porch in Bagley (check for hours) I Don’t Care Bar and Restaurant in North Andover (7 mins away - check for hours) Many fine restaurants in Prairie du Chien to the north (30 mins away) and Cassville (15-20 mins away) Please know that there are no grocery or convenient stores nearby. Closest grocery would be Prairie du Chien, Cassville or Lancaster. Closest convenient store would be Bloomington.
