Rated 5* by Visit Wales (June 26) The space The layout of Rhydwenfa is as follows Ground Floor; Large Kitchen/ Diner; The modern kitchen contains all the appliances and equipment to cater for big family meals. Appliances include a range oven with gas hob, large freestanding 70:30 fridge freezer, additional undercounter fridge, dishwasher, kettle (essential !), De'Longhi Dolce Gusto coffee pod machine, large slow cooker, microwave and a 4 slice toaster.. There is a large dining table and chairs to comfortably seat 11 or 12. Doors lead out onto the small fenced patio area where guests can enjoy town and mountain views from the garden bench or picnic table. A large lounge with comfy sofas and chairs, a large TV and a working wood burning stove perfect for cosy nights in. There is a twin room with ensuite on the ground floor. There is also a separate WC provided on this level. First Floor; Well equipped utility room with washing machine, dryer, airers and sink There are also 4 bedrooms on the first floor. 1 x triple room (king and single) 1 x twin room 2 x king rooms (both with ensuites) 1 x family bathroom 1 x shower room On the second (top) floor there is a sitting room with 2 large sofas. This room is everyone's favourite with fantastic views over the Snowdonia Mountains, the town of Porthmadog and glimpses of the estuary heading out to sea. The location of Rhydwenfa is fantastic and provides easy access to Porthmadog town centre (a mere 1 minute walk) with all it's many cafes, shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. The High Street is accessed via a short path with steps which runs down the side of Rhydwenfa. In the opposite direction the gorgeous village and beaches of Borth y Gest are only a 15 minute walk away. Further on are Black Rock Sands and the lovely village of Criccieth. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways can be boarded in Porthmadog. Or alternatively you can watch the steam trains chug backwards and forwards from the comfort of your own sofa. You can easily spot the steam trains from Ty Harbwr as they travel along the Cob, which is a man-made causeway built in 1811 across the Afon Glaslyn Estuary. Further afield, Porthmadog is only a stones throw from the spectacular Snowdonia National Park and all the outdoor activities on offer. It is equally perfectly positioned for all the amazing beaches that can be found all along the beautiful Llyn Peninsula and Cambrian Coast.
