Description

The Barn at Fallinge Farm is 1 of 3 holiday cottages situated on a secluded site in Rowsley, Derbyshire. The Barn comfortably sleeps six in superb well equipped self catering accommodation and has a patio area with private hot tub. This dog friendly property has exceptional scenery with multiple footpaths from the doorstep and a communal enclosed dog exercise field. The space The Barn offers the feeling of escapism set in a semi rural location on the edge of the National Park however it is based just a few minutes drive to local pubs, farm shops and restaurants. This beautiful site was formerly owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and Rutland Estates. Located on the border of the Chatsworth House estate and part of the Haddon Hall estate. The accommodation is an upside property boasting 3 double bedrooms including a master with en-suite on the ground floor. A open plan kitchen living dining area is on the first floor along with the main bathroom. There is a private enclosed patio area with a hot tub to enjoy if the weather allows with a further communal garden and communal children’s play area on site that comprises of a triple swing set and sandpit. Gorgeous walks and stunning scenery make this an ideal base to escape and enjoy the surrounding countryside all year round. Just a couple of miles walk through the forest and fields is The Devonshire Arms at Beeley or a further walk on to the grounds of Chatsworth. This property is located up a 1km private gravelled track (access is unsuitable for low profile vehicles) however there is private off road parking is for up to 3 cars allocated to The Barn. Well behaved dogs are more than welcome and they can indulge in the dog goodie boxes. Although the private patio area is fully enclosed, unfortunately the communal garden area isn't fully enclosed however, there is a large enclosed dog exercise area in the adjoining field. Dogs must be a on lead when not in the enclosed exercise area. Feel free to say hello to our friendly pet goats, sheep and ponies during your stay who love a fuss. You will be provided with a bag of food for them. Locally there are multiple farm shops and small supermarkets, however there is a large Sainsburys in Matlock, Co-Op in Bakewell and a large Morrisons in Chesterfield both within 10-15 minutes drive. Alternatively if you wish to order a food shop to be delivered for your stay, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys & Ocado deliver to our area. Within a folder in the property, there is a list of our recommended restaurants/bars. Close to our property there is Matlock farm park where the children can see & pet many other animals, have horse riding lessons/pony rides and there is several indoor and outdoor play area, go karts and the UK’s largest jumping pillow. Locally there is a little aquarium, museums, rapids, pottery painting, nerf zone parks and Gullivers Kingdom theme park, aswell as swimming baths, parks and treasure hunts. There is also the famous Chatsworth with its own gardens, farmyard and house and The Heights of Abraham which are both great for family days out. Matlock and Bakewell are both lovely towns for a day out. Matlock Bath is lovely place to visit for an evening at the amusements with fish & chips. All of the activities mentioned above are a 5 to 20 mins drive. There is multiple brochures and leaflets in the baskets of local events and activities. Or alternatively take a look at Visit Peak District for further information and upcoming events in the area. Other things to note IMPORTANT NOTES. ACCESS This property is set in a remote location up a bumpy 1km private gravelled single track, access is unsuitable for low profile vehicles. On the private lane there is a maximum speed limit of 5mph, please take extra care over the speed bumps and watch out for wildlife on the lane (deer, pheasants etc). This is a private lane but on the rare occasion you meet another vehicle please use the passing places. WIFI Due to the rural location of this property, wifi speeds can vary and be intermittent. This is not the property for you if you need super fast fibre broadband. HOT TUB - Hot tub rules apply. - Hot tub closes at 10pm. If you wish to use the hot tub during your stay, we recommend you bring a towel and/or bath robe. Extra towels for hot tub use are not provided. CELEBRATIONS If you are staying with us for a celebration then please ask about our special occasions packages tailored to you. We can offer you banners, balloons, cupcakes/brownies and more ready for your arrival for a small fee. COFFEE MACHINE Our coffee machine takes Dolce Gusto Pods, these are not provided so please bring these with you if you are wishing to use it. SUPPLIES This is a self catering stay however we provide the following to aid the start of your stay - Bed Linen (beds will be made up on arrival) - Bath Towels & Hand Towels (not for hot tub use) - Couple of Toilet Rolls - Handwash - Scourer - Dish cloth - Washing Up Liquid - Tea Towel - Couple of Dishwasher tabs - Couple of Wash tabs - Soft Rinse - 1 Bin bag - Tea, Coffee & Sugar - Salt, Pepper & Oil - Kitchen Roll - Antibacterial Spray Should you require any extras of the above, these are to be supplied by guests.
