The beautiful Ahr valley is 25 minutes away by car. Here everyone finds something for themselves whether with the family hiking or cycling, but perhaps nice wine locally from their own region. The Ahr valley is located between Cologne and Koblenz and was named after the Ahr, a tributary of the Rhine. The Ahr originates in Blankenheim in North Rhine-Westphalia and winds from there about 89 kilometers through a deeply incised valley framed by rugged rocks. Passing romantic winegrowing villages, it flows through the northeast of the Eifel in Rhineland-Palatinate until it finally flows into the Rhine at Sinzig.
