This Santa Barbara proprty is ideal for families or groups who appreciate being together while enjoying the privacy of separate spaces, and connected in a large compound estate. The property is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideal for family gatherings, retreats or special occasions The space Note: This is a large compound and there may periodically be workers on the grounds and/or a caretaker staying on the property. Guest access Guests will have full access to the main residence and other guest units (Loft, Courtyard and Artist residences) as well as parking, yard, patios, balconies and hot tub. Our wonderful caretaker lives in the lowest unit of the property but he does not share any part of the grounds with the guests. He has his own driveway, and balcony, and you may occasionally see him come and go. Please do not go on his level - thank you! Other things to note Quiet hours: 10pm - 7am Please ensure you thoroughly read through the entire listing description, scrolling through to the bottom to read House Rules, thank you! Please abide by the House Rules. Note: This is an estate with beautiful views and surrounding land. With this comes elements of being a non-urban area property. For example, there have been times where the city is working on repairs and has maintenance power outages (these are relatively rare, and the property has an onsite generator capable of running many household functions, in this eventuality). Also, there can be wildlife and sometimes high winds on the ridge. There may periodically be landscapers and/or spa-service on the grounds. POLICIES & ADDITIONAL FEES: The property is in a high-risk fire area, therefore NO SMOKING, NO VAPING, or open fires are allowed anywhere on the property and are strictly prohibited. If there is smoking on the property you will be assessed a minimum of a $250 fee. Additional Fee of $500 for catered meal/private chef, and by prior agreement before booking. Additional Fee of $1500 for small, private events at the property, by prior agreement before booking. We do not cater to weddings any longer Additional liability insurance is required for Catered Meals and/or Private Chefs and/or Private Events (by agreement with the host prior to booking). No guests allowed on the property other than those booked - pls make sure you speak with host if We do not provide tables and chairs for meals/events but can recommend local vendors to you If an event at the property is approved with host, a port-a-potty is required for an event that hosts over 30 guests (we are on septic) VERY OCCASIONAL HEATWAVES - On very rare occasions, Santa Barbara can experience a heatwave. One of the byproducts unique to this area is that ants will try to access homes during unusually hot weather. The management takes measures to mitigate this, especially when a heatwave is forecast, however, the we cannot guarantee that ants will not be present at the property, especially during or after hot weather. It is unfortunate when it happens - we will take every measure that we can, in conjunction with our local pest company When deciding on who to invite into the home we always consider previous host reviews, your profile information and an accurate photograph.
