The Lake Haus

Welcome to The Lake Haus! The Lake Haus sits on 2 acres of secluded woods. It has 2,100+ sq ft with lake side windows and stunning views. Fully equipped kitchen, a great room with stone fireplace, dining area that seats 12 overlooking 200 ft of private lake front, sun/game room for indoor fun, and screened in porch. The home is in an ideal location on the E. side of the island to enjoy sunrises, appx 7 mi from town, golf course, tennis court, brewery and appx 5 mi from Iron Ore Bay. The space The Lake Haus was built by Dr. Matthew Hohn, founder of CMU Biological Station here on the island. The stone fireplace was built by Beaver Island’s legendary craftsman, Mr. Dick Burris. You can enjoy time on Beaver Island year round with a NYE celebration, Valentine getaway, St Patrick’s Day on the Emerald Isle, Spring or Summer Break, or fishing and hunting season in the Fall. All three bedrooms have varying lake views. There is a second refrigerator for your use in the lower walkout level. Enjoy our game room with foosball, board or card games, and a mural painted by local Michigan award winning artist Patricia Tinney. The home is at an ideal location on the East Side of the island to enjoy sunrises and dark starry skies at night. Other things to note -PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE FREE BI HISTORICAL SOCIETY APP to view additional information on restaurants, trails, museums, events, transportation, emergency services, and community. -Six Adirondack chairs on the beach. -High chair available upon request. -Wi-Fi is available, password is located on refrigerator information sheet. -Samsung plus available for your television viewing. -Please keep in mind the shoreline is ever changing. The beach is primarily sandy but does have some rocks. There are also small rocks/pebbles at the waters edge. Water shoes are always a good idea. -Please be mindful that outdoor spaces may reflect the house is on the beach and in the woods.
