Accessible vacation home situated on Point-A-Lake in Andalusia, AL. John-boy's Place is the perfect escape for family or small groups. Under Windchime Wishes Limited, the home has been modified to erase barriers to access for patients and families facing progressive illness or conditions such as ALS, CP, TBI and SCI. Onsite medical equipment and kid-friendly, family oriented amenities combine with a peaceful location to create a restful and restorative place to make positive new memories Set on 1.6 acres along Point-A-Lake, John-boy's Place boasts large, open indoor spaces, a wrap-around covered deck, outdoor living space underneath the home, including audio/video set up, Cantina Bar, Foosball, Air Hockey, Ping Pong, Corn Hole, chalk table for littles and plenty of seating, in addition to wide open grassy areas and 5 ft wide sidewalks to the water's edge and soon to be built pier. Memorial bricks are being sold to create a dedicated firepit area close to the water and are available for purchase upon request. The home has an electric hospital bed, hoyer lift, seat-lift chair, reclining shower chair, threshold ramps and a 750lb Bruno Vertical Platform Lift for patient use. Some equipment is only available upon request and for approved medical necessity. Three bedrooms are located inside with multiple beds; there are two queen beds in the Queen Room, TWO twin-over-full bunk beds in the Bunk Room, and the master has a split king, available electric hospital bed, and extra twin bed just off of the master, for a caregiver or extra person. There is also a pack-n-play crib, high chair, booster chairs, lift chair, sleeper sofa, and two cots available. I live in Mobile, AL, so in most cases I am two hours from the lake house, but I do have a place to stay in town and would love to meet you when you visit! I am always available by phone and happy to answer any questions or concerns. I can be reached by phone call or text, email and also via the Airbnb website message box. I have a local handyman, Jason, who is available for any house issues or repair needs; his number is at the house and he asks that you leave a message, and he will return your call. Rural neighborhood running along the Conecuh River and Point A Lake. All amenities of the city but peaceful country vibe and a waterfront oasis. This is a one of a kind accessible home specifically designed for large or extended families to make a journey with a loved one who may be facing a terminal disease or progressive illness requiring extreme accessibility, such as those living with ALS, PLS, SCI or other progressive conditions. The nonprofit Windchime Wishes Limited is a 501(c)3 public charity and is open to accepting donations of money, materials, time/labor and bequests. Further information available upon request.
