This former 16th-century farmhouse is being brought back to life, step by step, with respect for its history and the surrounding natural environment. We are renovating it with simplicity and meticulousness, aiming to preserve its soul and reveal its full beauty. Here, it all starts with the land, nature, and the time we choose to take. Surrounded by the fields, ponds, and wildlife of Sologne, this place invites you to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy simple moments with family or friends. Villenouan is designed as a house to be shared: cozy cottages, common living areas, and soon new spaces to host even more memorable experiences—group stays, family reunions, intimate weddings, and experiences in close contact with nature. We move forward guided by three core beliefs: grounding, life, and sharing. A genuine place for genuine moments. A place in the making, which you can watch grow… and maybe return to. Guest access Take the Villenouan road to the end because paradise is at the end of the road. The cottage is at the top of an outdoor metal staircase. The accommodation is not wheelchair accessible. Park in the parking area in front of the white gate. If you need to unload your belongings, you can open the gate and park close to the stairs. Time to unload your belongings. Other things to note Ideal for getting out into the countryside and spending a relaxing time with family or friends in a cottage in the heart of the Villenouan Marsh Conservatory between Sologne and the Loire Valley. 10 minutes by bike from the first shops in the town center, you will enjoy the tranquility of the place. For lovers of nature and wide open spaces, you can listen to the song of the European Spadefoot Toad (a species almost unique in France), that of the Eurasian Bittern (a preferred breeding site), observe the little egrets and much more…. You will also fall in love with the starry sky, or the reflection of the moon on the ponds…. Despite the magnitude of the task, Marie and Charles fell in love with this place and very quickly decided to restore the sheepfold in order to settle the small family there. Accompanied by their 3 children: Camille and Marcel 6 years old and Jade 9 years old, they will welcome you with a smile and guide you to your nest to write the first pages of the history of the Villanoa lodgings. Be the first to discover this restored former hayloft located above the sheepfold accessible by a staircase. With stunning views of the conservatory, you will be captivated by the sunlight. In the evening, you might be lucky enough to meet the guardian of the place, our magnificent barn owl. Inside, a simple and neat decoration reveals traces of the past. You will enjoy a kitchen, living room area, dining room as well as two bathrooms, and two toilets. Outside, in the farmyard, you will find a space furnished with garden furniture to enjoy the beautiful days. You will also have access to the pond for a country picnic.
